ART JOURNALING TOOSDAY

it’s AJ MONDAY!

Hiya sistahs!

Well I am finally coming up for air!  Paulabella has been here since Saturday and we have been in a MIXED MEDIA MAYHEM since! LOL.. We have been creating.. shopping, creating etc.. it is such a treat for me when Paula comes cuz then I have an excuse to hibernate and “escape” LOL.. doesn’t happen often but I appreciate every moment!   So Paulabella and I worked on our security envelope entry and had so much fun and so did you!  I have gotten numerous emails from people who were so excited about this patterned paper SO EASY to find and so much fun to collect!  Pinky (see her entry below) used 6 DIFFERENT DESIGNS!  i told her that we should do an envelope swap cuz now I am JEALOUS..LOL

Ok so here we go!

Here is my canvas board.. you will see at the top of the image and on the mountain are my envelopes 🙂

here's Pinky's with her 6 COUNT 'EM 6 different patterns!

Paulabella's page! love the BINGO under the window of the envelope!

Here's Violet's gorgeous page! her leaves are cut out of the security envelopes!

*sigh* I love AJ mondayyyyyy…

Next week’s theme is  Design a virtual clipboard on your page (a frame) and tape or “pin” or paint all of your inspirations for the week..a magazine article, a color, a menu a doodle.  Anything that has inspired you.. you can also paint the whole frame in and just collage other stuff in it..  have fun with this!

oh.. and I may show some more sneaky peekies… stay tooned!

ALSO… If anyone reading my blog is LOCAL , we would love to have you join us for a STELLA and DOT jewellery party in Bellaland on Wednesday March 21st from 1-3pm… I love supporting women based companies.. and I love jewellery.. funky and AFFORDABLE jewellery that is.. and this just fit the bill!  So come will ya?  Would love to see you!

Mwah!

  1. Not too many entries this week but the ones that participated did a great job! Wow. Such talent! Personally, I’m still struggling with this, but I’ll keep plugging away because I’m really enjoying the learning process. This week’s challenge sounds interesting. Hope more participate.

Wow, so much gorgeous journaling art and recycling included. Wish I would have had time to play along as that is right up my alley.
Violet, I think you are being too hard on yourself. Your leaves look great along with your whole composition. Wish I had that much talent but we all have to start somewhere.

Violet I love your page!! Your quote really speaks to me. Being fairly new at this AJ thing I can relate. Each week I look to Emily for a prompt and then just run with it. Each week I initially think “I’ll never come up with something based on that theme” I have never paid any attention to the inside of envelopes before. Then I went rooting through the paper recycle bin and opened a stack of mail that was sitting on my desk and booom – there it is – inspiration.

Em – glad to hear that you are having some creative time with Paula. Sure wish I was there soaking in your energies. You can expect an envelope with some envelopes sometime soon 🙂

  6. Thanks for the kind words of encouragement. I am so out of my comfort zone doing these pages; hence my page this week. I’m not really a perfectionist, but maybe a close cousin? I’m definitely a typical Virgo – I like everything organized, everything matching, lined up straight, and everything looking as close to the original as possible. If you check out my blog you will see an old milk can I painted with the Blue Water bridge on it – I stressed to get that right. But I also love being messy and I love this new challenge. The best part of this – mistakes don’t really matter too much – decide it was meant to be and move on – this is where I struggle. I want to fix it!

  7. WOW! It’s a good thing I was at Emily’s and she twisted my arm to play along this week. lol She had lots of envelopes to pick from and I just got messy. Violet this is really outta my comfort zone and when Emily says to me it should have some ‘meaning’…i almost lost it! lol THAT is even more pressure for me. So I made Emily just cut me out a word to fit into my envelope window and I wrote a little prompt of what it reminded me of. AND, i used purple…sometimes i get into a purple-y mood I guess. haha
