Card Samples

It’s Scenic Saturday with Amybella on Monday!

Www.stampingbella.com: rubber stamps used : sketchy backdrop and uptown mystical girl. Card by Amy Young

Hello bellas!

Amy here with yet another Scenic Saturdaycard using the Sketchy Corner Backdrop. I swear that I had no plans to keep going with this Sketchy Corner theme but after my last Scenic Saturday post, where I mirror flipped the Sketchy Corner Backdrop, I received a few requests to share exactly how that technique was done. I figured a short video would be the most helpful explanation and since I would be stamping up a whole new scene I might as well make one that would work for my post today. So here we are, with another mirror flipped Sketchy Corner and if you would like to see how it was done, here’s a link to the Youtube video.

I also wanted to change up the look beyond the mirror flipping technique so that this card would really stand out from all the others I’ve already made. The best way I could think to do that was to color this street into a night scene and the beautiful new Uptown Mystical Girl was the perfect character to be wandering around late at night. As striking as a night scene is, they are actually some of the easiest to create because they tend to be monochromatic. I went with a very blue color palette which is only interrupted by all of the little light sources coming from the windows and that street lamp. In the foreground, Uptown Mystical Girl looks like a wandering gypsy, ready to read the stars and give other passer-byes their fortunes.  🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I promise I will be moving on to completely different scenes with the next Scenic Saturday, LOL!
