White card:
1 piece @ 4.25″ x 11″. Fold in half to create A2 card base.
1 piece @ 3.5″ x 8″
1 piece @ 3.5″ x 11″
1 piece @ 4″ x 5.25″

Patterned paper
Inside:
2 pieces @ 4″ x 5.25″
4 pieces @ 2.5″x 3.25″

Outside:
1 piece @ 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″

How To:

To make the twist and pop mechanism, take the 3.5″ x 8″ piece of white card and score down the middle at 1.75″, on the 3.5″ side.

Measure in 2″ from each end, on both sides of the card piece. Mark with a pencil.

Score diagonally to create a X

Fold and crease all score lines, folding both ways to create flexibility in the card.
With the card folded along the 1.75″ line, press in the side and fold the side section back. Repeat for the other side to create piece as shown. Set aside.

To make the inside focal piece, take the 3.5″ x 11″ piece of card and score at 2.75″, 5.5″ and 8.25″

Mountain/valley fold, ensuring the 5.5″ score is mountain.

To assemble: 
Fold the 4.25″ x 11″ piece of card in half to make an A2 card base

Glue down the 2 inside panels of patterned paper.

Measure and mark the centre of the card.

Apply wet glue or DS tape to one side of the pop up mechanism as shown and adhere to the card base, ensuring the point is lined up with the centre marking.

Apply glue to the other side of the pop up mechanism and close the card front down on top of it. Burnish with a bone folder.

When you open up the card, it should look like this.

Measure, and mark with a pencil, the centre of the twist and pop mechanism.

Lay the 3.5″ x 11″ piece of card over the pop up mechanism, lining up the centre scoreline with the pencil mark.

Fold in the 2 outer panels to reveal the pop up mechanism

Apply glue to the sections marked with an X, as shown

Open up the 2 outer panels and adhere to the glued sections.

Open and fold the card to ensure it’s working

Adhere the patterned paper to the 4 inside panels.

Utilize your papers to add greetings.

Make up the card from from the 4″ x 5.25″ piece of white card and the 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ piece of patterned paper.

Stamp the image onto white card and cut out with a circle die, before colouring.

Colour with your preferred medium.

Adhere the circles to the card front using 3D foam tape. Embellish as desired.

    Okay, I am typing my comment again because when I send, it said I needed to send a comment, which I wrote before I hit send. What is going on with your site?
    Anyway, I love the card a lot. Will I make one like it? Probably not. It looks to complicated to me even though you were very good at explaining how to do it. I don’t have a die cutter either. Thanks for showing us how to make one though.
