Hey friends!
We are in that Halloween home stretch so of course I’ve got one last spooktacular scene for this week’s Scenic Saturday card. I’ve been having so much fun mixing and matching old and new stamps that I decided to do it once again. This time around I inked up Tiny Townie Piper at the Pumpkin Patch and paired her with a twist on the new Tales from the Haunted Mansion stamp for a Halloween card that is too sweet to be scary.
Piper and her pumpkins were stamped first and because I wanted them to have a more Halloween vibe rather than Fall, I grabbed a 0.1 black multiliner pen and drew in some simple faces, transforming the pumpkins into glowing jack o’lanterns. The Haunted Mansion also got its own transformation when I chose not to ink up the books that the house rests on before stamping it into the background. This left me with just the mansion that I could then color into a spooky moonlit landscape. Omitting part of the original image on one and adding extra details to the other are both easy and effective ways to expand the uses for the stamps you already have in your crafty stash and have them help you tell a different story with them. Once Piper, the Haunted Mansion and the landscape were all colored in using Copic markers, I masked them both off before airbrushing the sky and full moon into the background. The sentiment from the Frightful and Delightful Sentiment set was stamped onto a word bubble die cut and glued just above Piper so that it would look like she is peeking out from behind those jacks with a friendly greeting. Hopefully this card has shown you how small changes here and there can have a big impact on the cards that you create. 🙂
Stay crafty my friends!
