Thursday with Sandiebella: Irish Chicks Double Diamond Card

Unbelievably, we’re almost at the end of February. That means St Patrick’s Day isn’t far off, and our Irish wonder Sandie has the perfect step by step project for you!

Irish Chicks Double Diamond Card

Supplies:

White card
Green papers
Circle and Scalloped Circle Dies
Pennant Die

How to:

Cut a piece of card measuring 5″ x 11.5″. Score on the 5″ side at 2.5″

On the long side, score at 2.5″ and 9″

With the card base in landscape position measure, on both the top and bottom, 2″ in from each of the vertical scorelines and 1″ in from each of the vertical scorelines on the horizontal scoreline.

Using a ruler and and scoring tool, score from the top pencil marks at the top to the pencil marks on the centre scoreline, and from the centre scoreline down to the pencil marks at the bottom. It should look like the picture below.

Fold and crease all the scorelines, both ways to loosen the card.

To create the double diamond shape, mountain valley the end sections and fold the the scoreline going across the diamond shape so that the centre of it pops up.

Pinch in both sides and crease with a bone folder.

Cut four 2 3/8″ squares from white card and four 2.25″ squares from green paper.

Adhere a piece of paper to each of the white squares

Adhere the squares to each corner, paying attention to how the back squares turn if you’re using a paper that faces a particular direction.

Adhere some patterned paper to the bottom half of the diamond if desired, then set the card base aside to work on the images.

Stamp the Irish Chicks onto white card and colour using your desired medium.

Cut out using the coordinating dies, or fussy cut with a precision scissors.

Cut four circles and one scalloped circle from white card and five smaller circles from green paper. Adhere a green circle to each of white circles.

Adhere the four circles to each corner section as shown.

Adhere the chicks to the circles on the front of the card using foam tape/dots.

Adhere the rainbow and the chick in the pot of gold to the scalloped circle using foam tape. Ensure there is clearance to close the card up before securing the pieces in place.

Apply adhesive to the BOTTOM half of the scalloped circle only and adhere it so the middle of circle is across the centre scoreline.

Stamp the Good Luck sentiment onto white card and cut out using a pennant die.

Adhere the sentiment to close to the bottom so that it can be seen when the card is folded up.
