Thursday with Sandiebella: Create Valentine Matchbooks!

Sandiebella is back with more fantastic inspiration and tutorials this year! She’s getting us started and well on the way for Valentine’s Day with this fab step by step today.

Hearty Chicks Valentine Matchbooks

Supplies:

Red card
White card
Scalloped Circle and Stitched Circle dies
White twine
Stapler
Scoring board and bone folder
How to:
Stamp a selection of images from the Hearty Chicks rubber stamp set onto white card.
Colour with your desired medium

Copic colours used:
Hearts: R17, R37, R59
Chicks – YR23, Y13, Y15, Y17. YR15, YR18

Cut out the images using the coordinating CUT-IT-OUT dies, or a precision scissors

Set the images aside to work on the matchbooks.

For each matchbook:

1x 2 3/4″ x 7 1/4″ piece of card for the base
1x 2/78″ x 2 5/8″ piece of paper for the front cover
1x 2.25″ scalloped circle (card)
1x 2″ stitched circle (card)
1x 1.75″ stitched circle (paper)

Score the large card piece on the long side at 3″, 3.5″ and 6.75″

Fold and crease all the score lines. Fold up the 0.5″ end piece and staple it as shown. This is the bottom of the matchbook.

On the outside front, adhere the 2 7/8″ x 2 5/8″ piece of patterned paper.

Adhere one of each size circles together and adhere one of the images to the front using 3D foam dots/tape.

Adhere the circle panel to the front of the matchbook using 3D foam dots/tape, close to the top (as the bottom of the front slides behind the closure.

For each matchbook, stamp the sentiment from Tiny Townie Ellie the Elf onto a strip of white card measuring 2.75″ x 3/8″.

Adhere the sentiment onto the bottom of the matchbook, covering the staple.

Wrap some twine around the matchbook front, beneath the circle panel and tie in a bow.

Using double sided tape, adhere some cellophane wrapped candy to the inside.
