Unbelievably, we’re on the last Thursday with Sandiebella before Christmas! Where did all that time go?! Anyway, if you’re still putting together gifts for Christmas, Sandie has a fantastic tutorial today.
Supplies:
On the 8 1/8″ side, score at 1 5/8″, 3 1/4″, 4 7/8″ and 6 1/2″
Fold and crease all the scorelines.
With the paper in the portrait position, cut on the second horizontal scoreline at the side, until it intersects with the vertical scoreline.
Repeat on the other side, cutting the scoreline opposite. Fold in both pieces and crease. This section is the top of the box and the larger section is the bottom of the box.
On the bottom section of the box, score the four corner squares diagonally, from the outside corner to the intersecting scorelines. Repeat on n the top section of the box, just on the top outside squares.
Crease the scorelines with your fingers and fold into position to loosen the paper.
With the paper in the portrait position and the top of the box at the top, apply adhesive on one half of the scored sections as shown. Repeat on the opposite side of the paper.
Remove the backing from the tape and fold the paper inwards, down on to the centre panel.
Repeat on the opposite side.
Fold the box into position to ensure it all works.
To assemble the box, apply adhesive on each triangle of the scored squares as shown.
Remove the tape liner and fold into position. Burnish with a bone folder.
Repeat for the bottom part of the box.
Take a length of ribbon and fold it around the box on the long side. Tie a knot or bow to secure it, but leave it loose enough that it can be slipped on and off.
For each box cut one scalloped circle measuring approx 2″, one stitched circle measuring approx 1.75″, and a smaller stitched circle for the image measuring about 1.5″. Stamp the image onto the smallest circle, or stamp the image onto another piece of white card, colour and cut out using the coordinating dies then adhere to the smaller circle using 3D foam.
Adhere the scalloped circle and the larger stitched circle together.
Colour the image using your preferred medium.
Adhere the image to the other circles. Punch a hole at the top and thread some white twine through the hole.
Slide the white twine through the centre of the knot on the ribbon and secure by tying the twine in a bow. The ribbon can be slipped off the box to fill it with candy or a small gift.

Great tutorial Sandie. I can see this as a birthday party favors box as well, just to make it an all year useful box. You are so creative. Thanks for sharing!
