Thursday with Sandiebella: Create a Bundle Girl Triple Slider Card

Sandie has a beautiful step by step for us again today – such a lovely design!

Bundle Girl Triple Slider Card

Supplies:

Bundle Girl with a Cornflower rubber stamp
White card
Designer paper
Scoring board and bone folder
Pencil and ruler
1 1/2″ circle punch
Craft knife
Twine
Embellishments

How to:

For the card base cut 3 pieces of white card
Largest tier – 11 5/8″ x 4.5″
Medium tier – 10.75″ x 3 3/8″
Small tier – 9.25″ x 3″
Sliding mechanisms – 3″ x 1/2″ strip of card (2)

Score –
11 5/8″ x 4.5″ piece at 3 7/8″ and 7. 75″
10.75″ x 3 3/8″ piece at 3 1/8″ and 6 7/8″
9.25″ x 3″ piece at 3 1/8″ and 6.25″

Take the largest tier and, on the right hand panel, measure in 1″ from the scoreline and from the right side edge. Measure down 1/2″, mark with a pencil. Measure down to 3″ and mark with a pencil. Using a craft knife cut down from the 1/2″ mark to the 3″ mark, as shown below.

For the medium tier – Measure in 1″, measure down 1/4″ and 2.5″. Cut from the 1/4″ mark to the 2.5″ mark.

Cut a piece of paper for the centre section of each tier.
Large – 4 1/8″ x 3.75″
Medium – 4 3/8″ x 3.25″
Small – 3″ x 2 7/8″

Flip each of the pieces over. Note that the top of the slider is upside down at this point.
Adhere the large and medium pieces to the outside, paying attention to pattern direction if necessary. Set the small piece of paper aside for now.

Take the two 3″ x 1/2″ strips of card and, with the inside facing up, fold in the right section. Weave the strip of card through the slits, and bring it right down to the bottom.

Fold in each side of the strip to fit snugly, but not too tight as the mechanism needs to be able to move up and down. Fold in one side, apply double sided tape, and fold the other side down on top to secure it.

As the distance between the slits is wider on the large tier, apply narrow double sided tape just at the end of the first side you fold in, then fold down the other side to secure it.

Open out the right side on both tiers and apply double sided tape to the other side of the mechanism.

To add a sentiment to the top tier – Position the designer paper on the front of the small tier without gluing it down. Pull the sliding mechanism to the top on the middle tier and place the small tier over it so that the bottom of the small tier is just below the bottom of the mechanism. Fold over the front of the middle tier. Place your stamp on top and make a mental note of where the sentiment should be stamped.

Stamp the sentiment on the small piece of paper.

Adhere the sentiment to the front middle section of the small tier.

Apply double sided tape to the left edge of all 3 tiers.

Remove the tape backing from the left edge and fold up the smaller tier, securing like a pocket. Push the sliding mechanism right down to the bottom and remove the tape backing. Adhere the small tier to the mechanism, centered horizontally and keeping the bottom of the small tier just slightly below the bottom of the mechanism. If you want small tier to be completely hidden when the card is closed, line up the top edges instead of the bottom.

Fold in the right side with the small tier adhered to it. Remove the tape backing from the edge of the middle tier, fold over the right side and secure.

Pull up the small tier to ensure the mechanism is working.

To add a pull tab –
Punch a 1.5″ circle using a punch, or cut one out using a die. Fold in half and adhere to the top of the small tier. If you have a Pull Here stamp, use it on the front of the pull tab, ensuring to keep it low down so you can punch a hole for the twine.

Stamp the Bundle Girl with a Cornflower onto white card and colour using your desired medium.

Trim the image to fit in the centre section of the large tier, with some paper border showing. Embellish as desired.

Take the medium and small tiers and again, remove the tape backing from the mechanism on the large tier. Adhere the medium tier to the mechanism, centering it horizontally.

Fold in the right side, remove the backing from the left edge and fold it over to secure it.

To add a gift card, apply a tiny bit of double sided tape to the back of the card, slide it under the large tier and adhere it to the medium tier.

  1. Beautiful. I’d like to try that some time. It looks like fun. Your coloring is gorgeous and I have saved a lot of your photos for inspiration. TFS
