Stamp It Saturday: One Stamp Set, Three Looks feat. Cacti

If you’re anything like me, you probably have a fair amount invested in your rubber stamp collection. More often than not, I but stamps based on how cute they are or how much fun I think they will be to colour. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it is good to have some ideas for actually using the stamps and getting the most for your money! I thought I’d share some fun ideas featuring one of our recent stamp sets, giving you three looks for one stamp set in one post. I hope you end up feeling inspired to get the most out of your stamp sets!

Stamping Bella Stamp It Saturday: One Stamp Set, Three Looks feat. Cacti

The stamp set featured in today’s post, along with its coordinating Cut It Out die set is: Stamping Bella Cacti stamp set. You get six rubber stamps in the set – five cute potted cacti and a sentiment to go with them.

Let’s take a look at the cards!

Cacti Card #1:

Stamping Bella Stamp It Saturday: One Stamp Set, Three Looks feat. Cacti

This card was nice and quick to put together. I created a background using Distress Oxide ink in Spiced Marmalade and a blending tool on Strathmore Bristol Smooth paper. I spritzed it lightly with water from a spray bottle to get the background effect. After drying the background with a heat tool, I stamped the images from the set randomly using Delicata ink in a copper colour. I love the Delicata metallic pigment inks – they are a little hard to photograph though, as they catch the light so beautifully.

The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed using Versamark ink and a white embossing powder on black cardstock. That’s it!

Note: you can read some of my thoughts on Distress Oxide inks in my previous post: Checking out Distress Oxide Ink Pads with Elaineabella.

Cacti Card #2:

Stamping Bella Stamp It Saturday: One Stamp Set, Three Looks feat. Cacti

This one was inspired by our lovely Sandiebella’s post: Negative Die Cut Framing.

I stamped three of the cacti from the set on Strathmore Bristol Smooth and coloured them with Faber Castell Polychromos coloured pencils.

Pencils Used: Light Phthalo Green, Phthalo Green, Deep Cobalt Green, Cream, Cadmium Yellow, Dark Chrome Yellow, Sanguine, Terra Cotta

Again, I created a Distress Oxide background, this time using Worn Lipstick. Once it was all finished and dry I then die cut the cacti shapes from it, after lining them up using the MISTI. The sentiment comes from the Danielle Donaldson almostElla stamp set, and was stamped and heat embossed on a strip of black cardstock.

Cacti Card #3:

This card is my favourite of the three. I’m actually a little addicted to creating this fun style of card at the moment, it just looks so cute!

I randomly stamped all the cacti from the set on a piece of Copic friendly cardstock using MFT Hybrid Ink in Black Licorice. I then coloured the whole thing using Copic Markers, and used a Sakura White Gelly Roll pen at the end to add some fun detail to the background. Some letters die cut from black cardstock finish it off. Such a fun card to look at! For a closer look at how I created this card, pop on over to my Marker Geek Blog Post today!

Copic Colours: B41, YG07,YG09,G19, YR12,YR14,YR27, Y13,Y08,YR23, R02,R05,R08, B63,B66,B69

In case that wasn’t enough inspiration, here’s a look back at the card I made using this set for the release previews!

  1. Oh what great cards! I really like card #2! I just might have to give that a try with my stamps and dies! 🙂

  2. I love when you can get so many different cards from one stamp set. To me that’s a win/win when you buy one stamp set and can use it many different ways. I have some stamps like that and because I have so many stamps, when I do buy stamps, not only do they have to be something I really, really, like but I have to be able to use them many different ways or it’s not worth buying it. Thanks for showing us what you’ve done. I love it!
