Time for another Stamp It Saturday! Elaineabella here, and I’ve been playing with some of the delicious Fall 2017 Littles & Little Bits again!
I may have mentioned before that I am head over heels in love with our new THE LITTLES and LITTLE BITS stamp sets. I was delighted with the summer releases, and I am over the moon with the autumn/fall designs. Hedgehogs and toadstools, oh my! Today I decided to share a couple of fun card designs using one of the complete Littles images and some of the accessory stamps from one of the Little Bits sets, to show you how you can get the most from these sets aside from building scenes with them. These are of course, just a couple of ideas – I’m sure you can come up with more of your own.
Stamp Sets Used: Little Bits Fall Fruit Collection stamp set (coordinating die set also available), Fall Sentiment Set
This first card was created using one of my favourite techniques – repeat stamping an image or a group of images to create a pattern, then colouring it! This is a great way to create a really eye-catching and fun background piece that you could use like patterned paper behind your main image or as I have done – keep as the main focal point of the card and just add a simple sentiment.
I coloured the background with a green Copic marker, spritzed with some colorless blender solution to give it some texture and disguise imperfections in the blending (love doing that for backgrounds like this one). The toadstools were then coloured using Polychromos coloured pencils.
This can be a little time consuming, but it is great fun if you love to colour and colouring the same image repeatedly makes for some great practice! The end result is totally worth it too.
Stamp Sets Used: Littles Hedgie & His Acorns (coordinating die also available) Little Bits Fall Fruit Collection stamp set (coordinating die set also available)
This one is a little less time consuming! Create perfectly coordinating “designer” paper to go with a stamped image by using a matching accessory stamp. On this card I had hoped to go for a tone on tone look, but couldn’t find the ink I wanted in my stash! I settled for Ranger Archival Sepia on kraft, and it worked pretty well. The result is a fun background that works with the main image.
Again, I coloured the main image using Polychromos coloured pencils. That little hedgie… *happy sigh*.
While I had my stamps out I also created another couple of pieces to play with for more cards.
I’m thinking a little more hedgie and toadstool colouring practice might happen soon…
If you have already seen yesterday’s Bellariffic Friday post you will have seen that a couple of the other babes and I are clearly sharing brain cells! Here are their cards again, showing perfectly how to get the most out of the smaller stamps in sets.
I think this is one of my favourite cards by Faye. SO CUTE. That mini version of the Squidgy is perfect for a background. Both sizes come in the Squidgy & Teddy Stamp Set.
Inge used adorable Daisy Squidgy – again, she comes in two sizes in the set. Perfect to create a coordinating background!
Build scenes, create your own backgrounds, decorate tags and envelopes. Just have fun with them and get stamping!
