Time for a little creative inspiration with me, Elaineabella, for Stamp It Saturday.
Some of the hot favourites from the last release have been the Uptown Girls Snapshots stamps, the Polaroid Stamp and the Polaroid Die! I thought it would be fun to have a quick look at some ways to use them, and ways to use the Polaroid die in general with other stamps too!
One thing to bear in mind is that the Polaroid Die cuts the frame out, so the inner piece where the image is cut out. If you want to use this die with the Uptown Girls Snapshots stamps it absolutely fits, but you will need to pop that piece back into the frame.
If you don’t fancy that, you can of course simply cut the Snapshots out with scissors, craft knife or a paper trimmer and you’re good to go!
If you like the inlaid die cut look, then use the die!
Another way to use the die is with the plain Polaroid stamp. This will give you the lines if you prefer that look to a plain die cut. Otherwise, you can simply die cut cardstock or patterned paper to create fun Polaroid style frames, and pop your images behind them!
I used the frames I die cut to pop over some coloured images I had sitting around – this is a great way to use a portion of an image either to fit a smaller card layout, or maybe to save an image where you made a mistake – no need to scrap it, just hide the problem area or chop it off to fit the frame!
I added some simple decoration to the frames using stickers from my stash. You could also stamp sentiments on the lower area, handwrite a sentiment or note, or add a die cut. Dress them up however you like! Another way to jazz them up and add some detail would be to ink the edges and add some shading for definition.
You could also stamp an image to fit the die cut. I took one of the white die cut frames for which I had kept the middle piece, then lined it up in my MISTI stamp tool and stamped a portion of an image. You can see from the photos below that I used a piece of acetate to help position the stamp perfectly on the small piece of cardstock. You don’t have to have a stamp positioning tool to do this, it just makes it a little easier!
The above pictures show the stamped acetate, which I could then use to move the cardstock into the ideal place to stamp.
Hey presto!
Doesn’t Tiny Townie Ella loves Easter look adorable in the frame?!
