Hello, hello!
Amy here on the Blogabella and it’s time for some serious, or not so serious, Christmas crafting on this Scenic Saturday. As I was looking through my stash of Backdrop stamps, it was the North Pole Backdrop that sparked inspiration. At first I thought about pairing it with some of the cute penguin stamps or maybe even a yeti but when I was flipping though the Oddballs this funny pile of dwarves, that are part of the Oddball Snow White and the Seven Dwarves set, were too cute to resist.
I’m always excited to find new uses for the stamps already in my stash, so the challenge of turning these dwarves into a group of exhausted Christmas elves was one I was eager to take on. I started by stamping the pile of dwarves first, then masking them off before stamping the North Pole Backdrop over top. Because I went with a mini slimline sized card the backdrop didn’t extend the entire width of the card front. To fill the empty space on the right I shifted the stamp on my Misti and inked up just a single pine tree… it was the perfect fit. Once I removed the mask it was time to color and classic Christmas reds and greens play a big part in transforming these dwarves into over worked and exhausted elves. I like to imagine that it is Christmas day and while Santa is off on his yearly trip around the world, it’s the one day that these guys get a break from all that toy making. To really drive home their ‘holiday spirit’ I chose one of the tongue in cheek sentiments from the Festive Oddball Sentiment set. All of which come together to put a smile on the face of even the biggest Scrooge. 😉
Stay crafty my friends!
