it’s THURSDAY with SANDIEBELLA!

Hiya sistahs, happy Thursday-with-Sandiebella!
Today Sandiebella teaches us how to make a beautiful GATEFOLD EXPLOSION CARD  featuring our BUNDLE GIRL AT THE PUMPKIN PATCH rubber stamp.
This card is simple to make and so pretty to display or give to a loved one!

www.stampingbella.com: rubber stamp used; BUNDLE GIRL at the pumpkin patch card by Sandie Dunne

Supplies:

Brown, Orange, and white card
Fall themed papers (Piatek Trzynastego, Four Seasons Autumn)
Scoring board and bone folder
Pencil, ruler and eraser
Scalloped circle and stitched circle dies
Adhesive
How to:

Stamp Bundle Girl at the Pumpkin Patch onto white card and colour using your preferred medium.

Cut out using a stitched circle die and, leaving the die in place, colour grass and the sky.

Cut a larger scalloped circle from brown card and adhere the image to it.

Set aside to work on the card base.

For the base of card cut:
Card: 4.25? x 11?, score at 2.75? from each end on the long side. Fold in the outside sections to make the gatefold. They should meet in the midde.
Paper: 4? x 10.75?, score at 2-5/8? from each end on the long side. Fold in the outside sections. There should be gap of approx 0.25″ between the sides

With the sides folded in, mark at 2? on both 4? sides and at 2.75″ on both 5.5″ sides

Keeping the sides folded in, score from the 2? mark diagonally to the 2.75″ mark. Repeat for all four corners.

Fold the diagonal lines back and forth to loosen the paper. Do not use a bone folder as this will break the paper down too much.

Pinch in at the 2-5/8″ score lines and fold the end inwards to make a triangle on the end. Repeat on the other side.

Centre the explosion mechanism on the inside middle section of the card base. Do not use adhesive.

Apply adhesive to one of the triangles and then fold the outer section of the gatefold in. Repeat on the other side.

When both sides are pulled open again the explosion mechanism opens.

For the front panel:
Orange card(layer 1):  4? x 5 1/4
Brown card (layer 2, optional): 3.75″ x 5″
Designer Paper (layer 3): 3-5/8? x 4-7/8?

Apply double sided tape to one side of the gatefold. Apply another strip of adhesive to the left side of the front panel. Adhere the panel to the front.

For the belly band:

Cut a 1.5″ strip of strip of A4 card, on the long side. Centre it across the front of the card base and fold each end around to the back. They should overlap about 0.5″.

Apply adhesive to the ends of the belly band and adhere to make the band. Cut two pieces of paper measuring 1-3/8″ x 5.5″ and adhere to the front and back of the band.

Retrieve the image and lay it centered on the band. Lift each end and a make a pencil mark. Apply adhesive inside the pencil marks and adhere the image panel to the band. Slip the band on the card to ensure a good fit.

For the greeting insert:
Cut a piece of card measuring 3.75? x 5.25?. Stamp a sentiment from the Fall Sentiments rubber set  in the centre. Turn the card over and on the back, mark at 2-5/8? at the top and bottom and 1-7/8? on each side. Draw connecting lines. Cut just inside the lines to create a diamond shape. Adhere into the centre of the explosion mechanism.
