It’ SCENIC SATURDAY with AMYBELLA!

www.stampingbella.com: rubber stamp used : Squidgy Ghost Trick or Treater , card by Amy Young

Hey there!

Well we are officially in spooky season so of course I have a new Halloween card for Scenic Saturday. This sweet little Squidgy Ghost Trick or Treater was added to my collection just after Halloween had come and gone last year so he has been waiting ever so patiently to see some ink. Compared to most of the other Bella stamps in my stash Ghostie here is on the smaller side so rather than risk having him get lost in a full size scene taking up the entire A2 card front, I instead went through my frame dies to find one that would give me a smaller amount of real estate to fill and still have a nice design impact. Once I found the right one for the job I quickly set about stamping Ghostie on then masking him so I could add the Little Bits Haunted House off in the background. I didn’t worry about making sure the entire house image showed up on the smaller panel, in fact letting some of your stamps be partially cut off here and there at the edges can make a scene more dynamic because it allows the viewer to imagine the world you’ve created extending out past the confines of the frame. Another little design trick that I employed was choosing to stamp and color the cute bat from the Squidgy Bat and Cat set on a separate piece of card stock, then fussy cut it out so that I could place the bat over top the frame. This creates a sense of motion as he now appears to be flying into the scene. These are both small design choices that can make a big impact on your overall card design. The quick addition of just the ‘boo’ from the Oddball Stepsisters sentiment quickly wrapped up this cute Halloween card 🙂

Have a great weekend and stay crafty my friends!
