It’s time for another fantastic DT Thursday post! This week Sandiebella is showing you how to make a festive Envelope Card, for sending a little extra cheer using our new holiday stamps!
Click through for the full step by step tutorial.
Envelope Card Tutorial:
Supplies:
Red Card
Christmas themed patterned papers
Large & small scallop circle die
Large & small classic circle die
Scoring board & bone folder
Adhesive
Ribbon, Twine & Button
Step by Step Guide:
Cut 4 scallop circles from the red card and 2 classic circles from the patterned papers.
Cut the 2 circles in half. Be mindful of which way you cut them if they have a pattern that needs to be upright.
Fold the scallop circles in half and crease well with a bone folder.
Adhere the patterned papers to the front of the scallop circles. You will need a top, bottom, left and right, as shown.
Taking the top section, apply a little bit of glue to the scallops on the left.
Using the scoring board, adhere the left hand section at a right angle.
Repeat for the other side, tucking it under the top section.
For the bottom section, tuck the right side under and leave the left side on on top to that is knits together as shown.
Cut a piece of red card measuring 3 7/8″ x 3 7/8″ and a piece of white card measuring 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″
Adhere the white card to the red and stamp the sentiment.
Adhere to the middle section of the card.
To make the belly band, cut a piece of red card measuring 1 1/4″ x 10″. Add a piece of double sided tape to the inside of one end, and the outside of the other end.
Fold it around the card and adhere the ends to each other at the back.
Cut a piece of patterned paper measuring 1 1/8″ x 3 7/8″ and adhere to the front of the belly band.
Cut a scalloped circle and a classic circle using the smaller dies.
Layer the circles together and adhere to the belly band. I added some white ribbon before attaching the circles.
Colour up your image and use the matching die to cut it out.
Using 3D foam dots, adhere Rudolf to the centre of the circles.
That’s it! All ready to send some Christmas cheer!

Hi Sandie! This is so adorable! Thank you for the wonderful tutorial. I want to make this right now!! Did you add a square on the back of the card, too? Love the image and sentiment you used!
Hi Laura,
I didn’t add a square at the back of this one but I do add it to some of my Envelope cards.
Love this card! I really enjoy creating cards that have some interaction. This is awesome!
I really love this card. It is the perfect card for a special gift to be included, like tickets to an event, etc. I must try this. Thanks for these DT Thursdays…so many fabulous techniques and project ideas.
Wow! what a wonderful card and how to. Thanks
I am so inspired to try this card with some of the other Stamping Bella stamps. Your instructions are easy to follow. Thank you.
Bookmarked! I’m going to give this one a try for sure! 🙂 Thanks so much for sharing such a great project!
I don’t have a die cutter so I thought that I couldn’t do this but I’ll bet I could if I fooled around with some scrap paper and my round biscuit cutters or a glass or a plastic lid. I have plenty of scrap paper so I don’t waste my good paper and I can keep them as templates. I have scissors that make that trim around the circle and while I don’t have a bone folder, I have sharp fingernails and other things that can be used instead of a bone folder. Oh my gosh, maybe I can make this! When I have time I might try making this. If I actually do it, I’ll send you what it looks like. I have so many stamps that are and aren’t yours that I can use in this that my juices are flowing. I want to make this!
