We’ve got another awesome DT Thursday project from Sandiebella for you today! Enjoy!
3D foam tape/dots
Stamp, colour and cut out some extra fish. These little ones are so easy to fussy cut, if you don’t have the coordinating CUT IT OUT Dies
Apply some 3D foam tape or dots to the back of the fish you want to pop up
Adhere them down onto the image scene.
Measure the height and width of the coloured image and cut pieces of card, or cardboard to match the size. Measure in 3/4″ from all 4 edges and, using a paper trimmer or craft knife, cut out the centre of each piece.
If you are using cardboard, you will need far less layers. Cut as many layers as desired, ensuring the depth takes into account the popped up fish.
Glue all the layers together
Apply a layer of wet glue, or 1/8″ double sided tape, around the top layer of the frame and adhere a piece of acetate, measuring the same external size as the frame layers.
Cut a piece of patterned paper the same size as the card/cardboard layers and adhere over the acetate
If desired, apply some glossy accents to the popped up fish. You could do this step before making the frame, giving it time to dry. If the glossy accents isn’t dry before the shaker card is sealed up, it can cause condensation fog patches on the acetate.
Turn the frame over so that the acetate is on the bottom and add some sequins.
Apply a layer of glue around the edges of the frame and adhere the coloured image, face down, onto it.
Make a card base to fit the size of the shaker and adhere over the back of the image. This also seals in the image and keeps it flat.

I think I get how you made the shaker card. My mom’s 90th birthday is on July 29th and I want to make her a special card. I can’t do this one because I don’t have any of these stamps and I love Nemo but I can do another one for her. Thanks for showing me how!
Thanks for the great technique!
Oh what a great card! I love the shaker! Just a great card! 🙂
