We’ve got another awesome DT Thursday project from Sandiebella for you today! Enjoy!
Set of Dinosaurs
(CUT IT OUT Dies, and Stamps/Die BUNDLE also available.)
White and kraft card
Patterned papers
2 x brads
Scoring board and bone folder
Make a card base measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″. Cut a layer of kraft card measuring 4″ x 5.25″, a layer of white card measuring 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ and a layer of patterned paper measuring 3.75″ x 5″.
You will also need a piece of coordinating paper measuring 2″ x 3 7/8″, and 2 brads.
Cut a piece of white card measuring 2″ x 9″ and score at 2″, 2.75″, 3.5″ and 4.25″. Set this aside for a now.
Cut 4 pieces of kraft card measuring 2″ square and 4 pieces of your colouring paper/card measuring 1.75″. Stamp the dinosaurs onto the white card and colour them using your preferred medium
Adhere each of the dinosaurs to one of the pieces of 2″ square kraft card.
To makde the card front, adhere the kraft card, the white card and the patterned paper together. Do not adhere them to the card base just yet.
Take the 2″ x 3 7/8″ strip of paper and apply a little adhesive to each end ONLY. Do not put any adhesive in the middle.
Position the strip about 3/4 way down the card and press each side to stick down.
Using a pokey tool, make a hole on each side of the strip and add a brad. Now you can adhere the card front down onto the base.
Taking the 9″ strip which you previously scored, fold each of the scorelines and crease well with a bone folder.
Take one of your dinosaur images and add a strip of adhesive across the top only.
Working from the bottom of the white card, line the top of the image up with the first scoreline
Repeat with the second dinosaur – apply adhesive across the top only, and lining it up with the next scoreline.
Repeat with the two remaining dinosaurs.
I decided I wanted to add some patterned paper to the inside of the waterfall, so I cut a piece of light coloured paper measuring 1 7/8″ x 4 5/8″ and adhered it down. You can use this section to stamp a sentiment, if desired.
Punch a hole near the bottom centre of the white card strip and thread some twine through.
Slide the long part of the white card through the strip of paper held by the brads, and position it as desired. Do not add adhesive as this needs to move up and down. 4
Apply a piece of double sided tape, no longer than 2″, across the centre of the belly band as shown.
Fold down the top part of the white card with the dinosaurs, and adhere the bottom dinosaur to the tape/adhesive.
Pull on the string to make each dinosaur move upwards and push it back up to fold them down again.
Here’s a quick video showing the card in action!
