DT Thursday time! Sandie has a fab project for us to follow along with today!
Supplies:
AdhesiveHow to:
On the 6.5″ side score at 0.5″, 3″, 3.5″ and 6″
Fold and crease the scorelines well with a bone folder.
*Note that we are working with the inside of the box facing upwards.*
With the 2″ section towards the top, remove the bottom two 0.5″ sections on the right hand side in to the 3.5″ scoreline. On the left side, make 2 tabs by cutting vertically on the 0.5″ sections. Use a corner rounder to round the edges of the 2.5″ tab, as shown (this is the closure at the bottom of the box)
Taper the edges of the 0.5″ tabs.
At the top, remove all sections from the left hand side, down to the first scoreline, as shown.
Create two fold in tabs by cutting, vertically, the 0.5″ section in the centre and on the right hand side. Taper the edges of the three tabs.
Measure down 1″ on the right side of the top flap.
Cut from the top left corner down to the 1″ pencil mark.
Apply adhesive to the 2.5″ tab and fold inwards. Burnish well with a bone folder.
Cut white card:
1 7/8″ x 2 3/8″ – to cut the angle, use the diagonal cut on the flap of the box as a guide, and mark with a pencil.
Cut patterned paper:
Remove the magnets from the package and put them together with the paper backing facing outwards on both.
Remove the paper backing from one side (it doesn’t matter which side) and adhere it to the inside of the flap.
Flip the box base over so that the outside is facing upwards.
Adhere one of the 7″ x 2 3/8″ pieces of white card to the front of the box.
Remove the paper backing from the second magnet and fold down the flap, ensuring it’s positioned correctly. Lift the flap and magnets should part.
Adhere one of the 6 7/8″ x 2.25″ pieces of paper down onto the white card, covering the magnet.
Glue down all the other panels on the box, as shown.
Cut a piece of patterned paper for inside the flap, covering the magnet.
With the inside of the box facing up, apply adhesive to the 0.5″ section on the left.
Adhere it to the outside of the 0.5″ section on the opposite end
Close up the box to ensure it all fits well. If necessary, trim the width of the bottom closure with a scissors
Stamp Penelope onto white card, colour with your desired medium and cut out using a rectangle die approx the width of the box. (Dies used – MFT, Stitched Mod Rectangle STAX)
Embellish the front of the box as desired and adhere the image flat onto it.
Side view.
To make a deeper box, cut a larger piece of card and adjust all the 0.5″ sections to 1″

We live in an area where we see white-tail deer each and every day. They are such beautiful animals. Needless to say, I am a fan of deer stamps and the new intro ones are soooo cute.
