Card Samples, Thursdays with Sandiebella

Thursday with Sandiebella: Create an All in One Gatefold Envelope Card

Time for another fantastic step by step from Sandie!

All-in-One Gatefold Envelope Card.

Supplies:

Card
Designer paper
Scoring board and bone folder
Precision scissors
Selection of dies for decoration (optional)

How to:

Stamp the “I DO” image onto white card and colour using your preferred medium. Fussy cut around the outline using a precision scissors. Set aside to work on the card.

Cut a 10″ x 10″ piece of card and score at 2.5″ and 7.5″. Flip 90 degrees and score at 2.5″ and 7.5″ again.

Make a slight notch at 5″ on one side

Make another notch at 5″ on the side directly opposite the first one. This will be the top and bottom of the card.

Fold and burnish the score lines.

Remove the outer four corners, ensuring to cut away all of the score line.

On the sides with the 5″ notches, cut diagonally from the notch down to the score line, as shown.

Inside panels –
1x  4.75″ x 4.75″ patterned paper
1x   4.5″ x 4.5″ white card
1x 3.5″ x 3.5″ patterned paper, cut diagonally
2x   4 7/8″ x 2 3/8″ card.
Outside panels:
2x   4 7/8″ x 2 3/8″ card
2x   4.75″ x 2.25″ patterned paper
1x   3.5 x 3.5″ card (cut diagonally)
1x   3.25″ x 3.25″ paper (cut diagonally)

Adhere all the layers to the inside and outside, except the inside centre panels.

Matt the image onto layers of paper and card. The size will depend on the size of the image.

Fold in the top triangle and apply some foam tape/dots

Centre the image and adhere to the foam dot.

On the bottom of the card, apply a little hook and loop Velcro

Fold in both the top and bottom and adhere the image to the velcro. Press down to ensure a good bond before separating the hook and loop.

Stamp the sentiment onto the inside centre card panel
Adhere the paper panel to the inside centre, and then adhere the sentiment panel on top.
Decorate the panels using die cuts. Used on this card – Tabs Border, Pennant Flags, Leaves, Flowers and Hearts.
The card can be folded up as like an envelope, or opened up and displayed as a gatefold card.
