Card Samples, Thursdays with Sandiebella

Thursday with Sandiebella: Create a Curvy Girl Organiser

Sandie is back with another step by step to keep us all crafting!

Curvy Girl Organiser

Supplies:
Card
Patterned Papers
Scoring board and bone folder
Stitched dies (rectangle and pennant)
Embellishments of choice
Elastic
How to:
Cut one piece of white card measuring 10.5″ x 5″ for the base, and one piece measuring 7″ x 4″ for the inside pocket.
Score the 10.5″ x 5″ piece at 5″ and 5.5″. Fold and crease the scorelines with a bone folder.

Score the 7″ x 4″ piece on the long side at 0.5″, 1″, 6″ and 6.5″

On the short side, score the 7″ x 4″ at 0.5″ and 1″

Cut away the three outer squares in each of the two corners where the scorelines intersect. Taper the edges of the last square to make a tab.

Apply adhesive to the outside of the tab and adhere it to the side of the adjacent section.

Apply adhesive to the inside of the 0.5″ outer ends and adhere them to the bottom to make a pocket, as shown below.

Apply wet glue to the 3 sides of the pocket and adhere down onto the inside back of the base. Using wet glue gives you time to move the pocket into place so that it lines up with the edges of the base.

Use a bone folder and burnish well, to ensure the edges are nicely glued to the base.

Cut 3 pieces of card measuring 4 7/8″ x 4 7/8″, and one piece measuring 4 7/8″ x 2 7/8″

Cut patterned paper layers as desired.

Glue the panels to the inside front, inside back and the pocket. Cut a piece of patterned paper  measuring 4 7/8″ x 3/8″ for the 1/2″ section between the scorelines. Layer the papers as desired.

Before adhering the front outside panel down, cut a length of white elastic approx. 10″ long. Wrap it around the organiser from back to front and adhere using double sided tape. Adhere the panel on top of the elastic, burnishing well to get a strong bond.

To open and close the organiser, flip the elastic over the bottom

Add patterned papers to the sides and top of the organiser

Sides  – 3/8″ x 2 7/8″
Top – 4 7/8″ x 3/8″

Stamp Curvy Girl is Busy onto white card and colour with your desired medium

Cut the image out using a stitched rectangle die. If your paper is thin, cut another rectangle from card and adhere them together. Adhere the rectangle onto the front of the organiser.

Stamp the sentiment in sections as shown below. I do this by covering the parts I don’t want stamped with double sided tape and then peel off once the sentiment is inked. Cut out each piece using a pennant die.

Adhere the ‘I know you’ve been so busy” to the front of the inside pocket.

Adhere the ‘hello’ to the front, with the image.

Hand cut a couple of pennants and embellish as desired.

Insert post-it notes and pens into the pocket for display.
