Delphineabella here, with my latest Weekend Inspiration card for you!
I chose to use one of our awesome latest stamps, Oddball Christmas Ornament Elf and stamped it twice, one for the colouring of the elf, one for all the rest of the image. I coloured everything in Copics then fussy cut my elf and put it on foam squares for a bit of dimension. I added a bit of shading around my image using a black pencil and added touches of gold here and there, as well as on a Joy chipboard.
Copics used:
Skin: E000, 00, 11, 71
Red: C7, R35, 37, 59 Leaves: G28, YG63, 67 Trousers: G28, YG03, 17 Blue: B05, 28, 39 Gold: E35, Y11, 35, YR23 Background: BG53Thanks for stopping by, have fun with our new release!
Hello bellas!
Amy here with a cute Christmas card using a couple of the stamp sets from the new holiday release for this week’s Scenic Saturday. The quickest and easiest scene building happens when you’ve got one large backdrop stamp that does all of the work for you. And when they are as great as this Winter Woodland Backdrop why wouldn’t you want to make use of them?
All I had to do was stamp this pair of sweet Winter Woodland Mice and mask them before stamping the Backdrop right over top. Once the masks were removed, I was left with this frosty, snow-covered scene that was all ready for me to color… scene building doesn’t get much quicker than that. I started by coloring the snow first and the great thing about coloring white snow is that you can choose any colors you like to create the shading that takes it from a flat, white area of card stock to subtle drifts of powdery snow. That is because snow reflects those colors that are near it, which also makes it great for establishing time of day in your scene. The nearer to night and darkness you want it to be, the more color you add to the snow, relying on fewer and fewer white highlights. For this particular scene I was going for a bright, mid-day look so my shading isn’t too dark. I used a mix of minty green and grey toned blue/green Copic markers to keep the overall look crisp and clean so that the red scarves and holly berries would really pop out and catch the eye. With the coloring complete all that was left was to add was a festive sentiment and I found the perfect one in the Gnomedeer stamp set. The end result is a bright and cheery Christmas scene card that I was able to complete in record time thanks to the fantastic Backdrop stamps found in the store.
Stay crafty my friends!
