our stamp of the month is Edna Blows a Kiss
this stamp is so awesome.. first because she’s EDNA of course.. and also she comes with the separate kissy lips, fairy dust and cloud.. just amazing.. NOT ONLY THAT.. BUT WAIT.. THERE”S MORE… she has a matching CUT IT OUT DIE..AND some bases to perch her on.. she has a DAISY BASE, a CLOUD BASE, a SIGN base… could anyone ask for more?
Not only is it bellarific friday but every first friday of the month, our BABEROONIS come up with amazing samples using that stamp. HERE WE GO!

Welcome to Stamping Bella’s Design Team Thursday! Today I’d like to show you a little project that helps us get more use out of our smaller stamped images.
I’m working with two stamp sets. For my main card images I’ve used the Mail Chick set with it’s coordinating dies.
I’ve also cut a piece of red cardstock and a slightly smaller piece of vellum.
The second stamp set I’ll be using is the Mr. Postie’s Mini Envelope Accents and some Versamark ink
I couldn’t find my regular powder tool so I just grabbed some talcum powder and used a little on the vellum to get rid of any static. I used a paint brush to spread it all over.
Next I stamped a couple of the images from the Mr. Postie set, the small letter and air mail airplane, randomly on the piece of vellum and then sprinkled on some white embossing powder.
After heating the embossing powder with a heat gun my vellum panel was ready. I then attached it to the red cardstock with a few little dots of glue here and there. I went back later and added a couple more embossed imaged along the top edge to balance out the panel a bit better.
And here you have the finished card with a fun background created from those little accent stamps.
There are other stamps in the Stamping Bella collection that would make awesome backgrounds like the cherries in the Cherry Chick set, the cloud in the Edna Blows a Kiss set, and the Easter Eggs in the Row of Bunny Wobbles set
Don’t let those little treasures gather dust.

I’m back! I’m pretty sure you didn’t miss me too much last week though, given all the release preview excitement. 😉 The latest Stamping Bella rubber stamp release is of course now available to order, and inspiration for using the new images is in plentiful supply. In case you missed them among all the excitement, I’d like to draw your attention to the fact that I’ve started uploading colouring videos to YouTube once again! You can find all of my Stamping Bella related videos in my Stamping Bella YouTube Playlist. I invite you to subscribe to my channel if you’d like to keep up with future uploads, which may include other brands of marker than Copic, and quite possibly coloured pencils too. Make sure you have a browse through the playlist as some of the older videos might prove quite useful, including my Copic Galaxy Colouring Video (as seen on my Stamping Bella Nacho and Hayley The Superhero cards).
Today I’ve got another video for you. It actually uses footage from one of the videos I published during the release sneak peeks, showing how I coloured Thinkingofyouabella (you can view that video on YouTube). Since I have used Thinkingofyouabella for today’s Copic hair combos I thought it would be useful to share a slower version of the hair colouring portion of the original video. This time the footage has only been sped up slightly to keep the video under 10 minutes, so you can see exactly what I’m doing and still fit it into a quick break. 😉

As you can see in the video, I start by mapping out the areas I think will be in shadow, or which would be darker in colour using my darkest marker. I then work backwards towards the lightest shade, which I use quite sparingly (I want to avoid over-blending and losing the texture I have created in the hair). When all of the hair is coloured I assess the image before going back and deepening some of the darkest areas using the darker markers.
Thinkingofyouabella is a fantastic image for practicing both hair and skin colouring, as those areas are larger than on many of the other stamps in the collection (although I will point out that some of the other Bellas have fantastic legs to practice colouring definition on).
Here is a full Copic Colour Map for the Thinkingofyouabella colouring featured in the videos. Remember that if you purchase Stamping Bella stamps you can obtain colour maps for the versions shown on the product packaging – go HERE to find out how to do that. Between those and the bonus colour maps featured here on the blog, you can build up a great library of colour combinations to try out with your own Copic collection.
You may remember that in one of the first Marker Geek Monday posts I shared a set of Copic Hair Combos: Marker Geek Monday Copic Hair Colouring #1 (which includes some tips along with the Copic combo sheet). Today I’ve got a few more to share with you!
You will notice that two of the combos shown are exactly the same – E42,E43,E44 – this is to demonstrate the dramatic difference in results you can get just by using the markers in a combo either in a different order or by laying down more or less ink. In these examples I simply varied how much I laid down with the darkest marker (E44). The third marker combo adds Y21 to the mix to show how the addition of another colour can also change things dramatically! Another reminder that you don’t need all the markers to achieve variety in your colouring. 🙂
