MIXED MEDIA COLORING
Hello Everyone, My name is Kathy from The Daily Marker and I am excited to be back on the Stamping Bell Blog today.
Tea cups, floral vintage dishes, crystal … all things I love to collect so when I saw this stamp called, “Edna’s CUP OF TEA” from Stamping Bella I just had to have it. I set out to create a card set of four but, things went a little south.
I stamped the image on Tim Holtz pre cut watercolor color paper and inked the stamp with black archival ink.
Notice two of the cards the tea cups are positioned differently. I was chatting and placed the paper in the wrong area in the misti but, fortunately it still worked. I was away at a retreat when I colored these sweet angels but, I managed to pull together a little video to show you how I painted the background with distress ink.
When everything was bone dry I added some shadows with my copic markers. Gasp I know and it might use a little extra ink but, it’s a time saver for me and it works well if I don’t go over the black line.
A little extra shading with a sharp tip colored pencil. Easy to control and just fun too.
Adding foam tape to my watercolored card panels gave my card some depth and more interest. Some white dots and lines with a white gel pen was the final touch. I hope you picked up a few tips today and thanks for your visit. Hugs, Kathy=
Unicorn Magic
Hi it’s Jennifer here with our Wonderful Wednesday post. Today I made some really cute and fun gift cards… and yes I did sneak some sequins in and glitter on the magical wings of these adorable Unicorns.
I have used the rubber stamp sets UNICORNS and UNICORN SENTIMENT
they are also available as a Unicorns “Cut It OUT” and
Unicorn Sentiment “CUT IT OUT” dies on their own or
Unicorns BUNDLE and Unicorn Sentiment BUNDLE
where you can save 15% when purchaseds as a bundle!
A great set to go with these Cuties is Unicorn Add On Set BUNDLE.
On my wish list now too!
Here is my first unicorn gift card. I was only doing 3 buuuuut they were so cuuuuute and addictivvvvvvwe that I did 5 with more I am
still making ?.
To make my gift cards I make a base 15cm x 7.5cm . I use a nice double stitched square to fit inside for my bright papers which is a great way to use scraps. I then use a smaller
stitched square in white and emboss it with a small print and dimensionalize it.
The die cuts I have used are Sunshine Layers from WPlus 9 for the rainbow and the Castle is from La-La Land Crafts and they worked perfectly with these cuties.
For card #2, I managed to get a shaker and some sequins in ?. I just used a stitched circle for the shaker section. Ooops , I just realized that my butterfly must have flown off the card! Use your imaginations as it was in the top left hand corner pink and glittery.
Card 3, I just love this adorable sentiment .. it should be applied everyday to ones self.
For card number 4, I think I might go over the horns with a glitter pen..
you can never have enough sparkle!
and finally, for card number 5 the clouds are in the same set mentioned above.
Hope you enjoyed these cuties and I hope that I have inspired you!
Have a great crafting week.
Jennifer
