Spotlight On: Oddball Pumpkins

This week I’m throwing my big spotlight on a couple of favourites! Our Oddball Pumpkin stamps. They are cheeky and fun, and as our team and guests have shown lately they work really well with some of our newer releases! Fantastic as focal points on their own, together, or as backgrounds for some of our other stamps. Our newer AUTUMN SENTIMENT SET, FRIGHTFUL & DELIGHTFUL SENTIMENT SET and SPOOKY SENTIMENT SET are perfect to go with them.

Delphineabella here, with my latest Weekend Inspiration card – all about Halloween this time!

I coloured everything in Copics, added a Boo! sentiment from the Tiny Townie Willow the Witch set and added a bat which I drew using a stencil.

Scenic Saturday with Amybella: Oddball Batty Duo

Hello bellas!

Amy here and it’s time for another Scenic Saturday. I’m in full Halloween mode now that we are in October and that had me reaching for the new Oddball Batty Duo for my card today. I especially couldn’t wait to play with this particular little bat because I wanted to have him hanging upside down from the roof of a cave.

Now originally, he is holding a cherry but I wanted to make the image a bit spookier in honor of Halloween so before stamping I used a baby wipe to remove ink from the stem and the bite mark. This left me with a gap in the line work which I easily filled in using a 0.1 black multi-liner pen. I then used the pen to thicken the shorter stem and draw in a face to turn the cherry into a funny jack o’lantern. With minimal effort I was able stretch the versatility of this stamp and make it work seamlessly into the spooky vision I had for this mini slimline scene. The next step was to color in the background and I began with the cave ceiling and floor. This created a natural frame for the fairly monochromatic scene of the full moon, rolling hills and haunted house that I sketched in using Copic markers. I kept it pretty simple as I didn’t want to make the cute little bat have to compete for the spotlight. From there, all I had to do was stamp a sentiment from the Frightful and Delightful Sentiment set down below and my vision for this spooky cute Halloween scene was complete.  🙂

Stay crafty my friends!
