Inspiration with Delphine: Little Cutie Mermaids & Octopus Friends

I’m back with my Inspiration Posts, and it makes me so happy! For today’s post, I wanted to use a very summery stamp so I went for the Little Cutie range, with the oh so adorable Little Cutie Mermaids & Octopus. I paired my cuties with a sentiment from the Mermazing Sentiment set – I love the text and font!

Stamps Used:

I coloured everything in Copics, only added a bit of seaweed at the bottom and a few bubbles with my blender. Also, to colour the hair, I mapped and cut the hair in different parts to help me visualize how to colour. You can see I did it differently for each of the mermaids.

Skin: E000, 00, 11, 74
Pink hair: RV13, 14, 19
Brown hair: E19, 59, YR23
Green tail: G14, 17, 29
Purple tail: V04, 06, 09
Star: E35, Y13, YR23
Flower: V04, 06, 09, Y13, YR23
Octopus: Y02, YR00, 02
Plants: G19, 29, YG01, 05, 09
Sea: B01, 02, 04, 05, 18, 99
Sand: E50, 51, 53, 55

Happy crafting!

Marker Geek Monday: Spec-Tacular Teapot & Cup Card & Video

A little more Spec-Tacular inspiration for you today! These new stamps are just so fresh and fun – they really bring a smile to my face when I’m creating with them.

Spec-Tacular Teapot & Cup

I went with a friendship theme for this one today, using one of the sentiments from our Friendship Sentiment Set, which fits perfectly with this image. But I can see this one for Mother’s Day too, a fun birthday card, a just because card…

Scenic Saturday with Amybella: Uptown Greta Loves to Garden Scene Card

After the long hiatus it feels so good to finally be back with a brand new Scenic Saturday post here on the ol’ Blogabella. I’m continuing to enjoy creating with the latest release to hit the shelves so I chose to ink up the lovely Uptown Girl Greta Loves to Garden for my card today.

Stamps Amy Used:

To shake up the design a bit and give Greta a slightly different look, I stamped her at a subtle angle in the bottom corner of the small-ish Note Page die, cutting her off at the waist. My goal was to have her sort of “photo-bombing” the picture of the garden that I created using a mix of older stamps and free hand coloring.

The pumpkins are part of the Set of Pumpkins while the flowers behind them are from the retired Little Bits Potted Flowers set, I simply didn’t ink up the pot part of the image.  The butterfly in the sky is from the Squishy Cats stamp set.

Greta and the garden were all concentrated in the bottom half of the panel so that I could color in a wide open blue sky that provides some breathing room within this otherwise rather busy scene. It also creates the perfect space for me to add a sentiment from the new Garden Sentiments set. Once the little Note Page panel was all colored up I added foam adhesive to the back so that it would have a bit of lift separating it from the busy garden print covered card base.

Hopefully you can see that building a full and bountiful garden scene doesn’t have to overwhelm and take over the entire card design to the point where it is hard to make out the individual elements.  🙂

Stay crafty my friends!
