Namaste

Please tell me that is the way to spell it.. LOL.. cuz if not.. I am gonna feel like a dumbdumb.  This is not really a bidniss post.. it’s more of a remember-those-days-with-my-fabulous-4-readers-where-i-used-to-make-fun-of-myself?  LOL.. so here goes…

I have decided that it was time to go on a little diety poo poo and do some exercise where I don’t have to jump up and down and still sweat..LOL… do I live in a bubble world or what?  ANYWAYYYYYYYYYYY  I saw my friends Amanda and Jay a couple of weeks ago and they looked ABSOLUTELY PHENOM.. so I asked them.. WHY DO YOU LOOK SO ABSOLUTELY PHENOM?  and they told me MOKSHA YOGA.. hot yoga.. hmmm.. I asked if they had to jump up and down.. and they said “nope”.. then I asked if they sweat.. and they said YUP.. and then I remembered Madonna and her TONED YOGA BODY and said to my self.. “self? (ok I know that’s old).. why don’t I go ahead and try this type of exercise”.. so as I start something new, I am just the type where I can’t DIVE into a class and humiliate myself so I booked a private class for Ryan and I… welll…. I don’t think Nicky mentioned a KABILLION times to bring water and not to faint… then she told Ryan  to watch me and make SURE that I dont keel over in the heat..LOL.. so off we went to our class.. I changed in the bathroom (cuz I don’t changey in publicky), put on my yoga gear (why not get in gear even if you aren’t into the sport)… actually that reminds me.. a few years ago I started “spinning” at a health club where you are in a dark room with FUNKY music and you are riding a stationery bike to the beat and the teacher tells you the resistance to stand etc.. LOOOVED that class… so what did I do?  I bought SPINNING SHOES and a GEL SEAT for the class… it seems that once I get “equipped” for something, it is a type of kiss of death.. do you think I “spun/spinned” again?  NOPE.. got DA SHOESIES and did not spin again…

Anyway, of course my biggest fear of this yoga biDniss was that a) I would pass out from the heat b) I WOULD LAUGH HYSTERICALLY at the silence c) I would suffer MAJOR anxiety at the silence..LOL…  So ryan and I walked in the heated room and it really was the most peaceful experience.. the class was about 95-100 minutes long and it was just wonderful.. can you believe I didn’t laugh?  I didn’t stress?  I WAS IN SHOCK.. but then again I was in a private class.. I guess it will be different when I am in a proper class….

so whaddya think I did?  I BOUGHT A YOGA MAT…

UH OH…. you know what DAT means

mwah to da sistahs who know how to spell NAMASTE

Em

  1. That is so funny! I am glad you enjoyed it but you better not be getting all diety for the cruise. It’s 6 months away and I still haven’t lost one pound. Oh, I had high hopes….now it just seems hopeless. Oh well…..it will still be the highlight of my year.

    Em,

I lovey that you share all your exciting adventures with us. I think it’s hilarious that you bought all the spinning stuff and never went back. That’s exactly what I did with step-aerobics. LOL I have that huge step and I do nothing with it. I’m glad your hubby is sharing this adventure with you in your private sweat lodge. Best of luck with the yoga.

Oh, you know you doomed it right? 😀
I did some yoga for about 6 weeks (this was in preparation for a wedding 4 years ago) and decided I was doing so well that I would get a mat. I can count on my hands how many times I have used that beautiful mat since….most of them have been for my daughter to “do her exersisessss”. LOL

Nonetheless, you have inspired me. I shall get out my mat tonight and do yoga in spirit with you! 🙂

  4. Annapurna says:

You spelled it right. I am from India, so I may be right 😉
I am so happy for you that you got to experience it. I wish I had a good teacher by me. I used to have one, we moved and never found a good one since. I used to fall asleep during the last part, every time. Hope you continue to practice it inspite of your mat purchase.

  5. Julie Masse says:

You go girl! I did yoga for about 2 1/2 years then my instructor took the summer off to spend time with her kidlets so I thought that was a good idea (taking the summer off that is) and you know what …i NEVER went back. i have since gained 15 lbs and spent the last 3 years maxing out my massage and chiro benefits. Namaste!
(oh ya…I’m with Anna…I would fall alseep at the end and the instructor would come gently wake me up…hehehehe)

OMG…I’ve done 2 hot yoga classes and have another one booked for tomorrow and Friday…I have never sweat so much in my life but it’s absolutely brilliant!!!! I’m at an age where I don’t want to huff and puff and jump around like a loon and it’s perfect….once you get over the fact that it’s 90 minutes long it’s ok lol!!!! My biggest problem is balance…I keep falling over : ) !!!! Keep it up and you’ll be body beautiful in no time.

    ps I’m still on Lent!!!!!!!!!!!!

  14. ChichiBoulie says:

LOL! Keep at it. Yoga is fabulous! Maybe I’ll do some tonight. I need it after the day I’ve had. We can try to be zen together. Hey, maybe a yoga fairy…. 🙂

  15. Christy S. says:

Yoga is just not my thang, but I hope you enjoy it Em. You know what is fun *and* is exercise *and* you get to wear fun sparkly things and skirts that swirl around you? Bellydancing. If you find anyone offering lessons in Middle Eastern Dance, then definitely try it. I went to a fabby dance studio in Texas and I’ve never had so much fun in my life as I did learning to shake my hips and swirl a veil. Where I went it wasn’t all pin-thin ladies either, there were women of all sizes just having the time of their lives. I just wish I coulda taken that studio with me every time I moved…

Enjoy the yoga thing! I never could get into it…I’m so not flexible and it just doesn’t do a thing for me :p I’ll stick with bellydancing, which is funny because I ain’t got no rhythm!

  16. Tamela says:

OHHH gurl! If you really get into that yoga “thang” you are really really going to love it! My husband and I just recently started doing yoga and it is PHENOM! In a month you will wonder where you get your strength and flexibility from, AND, you will want sex all the time…..I’m just sayin’. So, it will also make you feel strong, confident, and it will help you handle the stress in your life….especially if you have a good teacher that really gets to the “inner” spirituality of it, the peacefulness. I just hope and pray that you nor anyone else farts in class, that happened in one of my classes, and I nearly died from trying to stifle my giggles! Mwah to a sistah and prayin you don’t fart in class!
