Hello friends!

Amy here with another Scenic Saturday card and with Halloween only a week away of course I had to find some spooky cute stamps to create with. There are so many great Halloween images to choose from in the Stamping Bella catalog but I finally settled on the adorable Squidgy Pumpkin Trio. These three costumed cuties had yet to be inked up and I couldn’t let another Halloween come and go without getting them on a card of their own. The smaller size of these stamps made them perfect for a mini slimline scene so I stamped the middle kiddo first, masked her off, then stamped the other two on either side. Once the mask was removed the middle kiddo now looks to be standing slightly in front of her friends. For the background I thought it would be fun to have them posing outside their house so that mom can snap a photo or two of them all dressed up in their costumes. I grabbed a ruler and using a very light grey marker sketched in the side of the front porch then proceeded to give it a stone pattern. Some wood trim and posts really started to make that porch look more convincing. Next, I colored in the grass, road and sidewalks that help map out this little neighborhood. Because I didn’t want the sentiment from the Fall Sentiments set to get lost in that background, I used a black multi liner pen to draw a frame around it, turning it into decorative yard signage that now fits seamlessly in with the rest of the design. Once that was in, I could complete the rest of the scene, adding a row of simple house and tree top shapes progressing down the street. The most convincing ‘trick’ when creating a scene like this is to make sure your street lines narrow as they recede back and that your buildings and trees are drawn in smaller too the further back they go.

Here’s to a spooktacular Halloween bellas!
