SCENIC SATURDAYS with AMYBELLA

it’s SCENIC SATURDAY with Amybella!

www.stampingbella.com: rubber stamp used: CURVY GIRL LOVES COFFEE. Card by Amy Young

Good evening Bellas,
Amy here with another Scenic Saturday card to share. This week I was inspired to make a few little tweaks to Curvy Girl Loves Coffee so that I could get her out of the bedroom and into her favorite coffee shop. Every time I looked at this cutie I saw her in leggings, tall boots and a flannel shirt, pretty much standard issue wear here in the North West this time of year. All I had to do was take a baby wipe and remove the ink from the sleep mask on top of her head and the clock that she was holding, then stamp the image. Next I used a fine line black pen to fill in the missing hair and add a simple purse where the clock had been. Now this Curvy Girl was ready to get out of the house and get her day going. I’ve done a couple coffee shop interior scenes in the past but this one was inspired by a card that I saw the talented Sandy Allnock share recently. I loved how she created a chalk board menu board, adding her sentiment right on it and I knew that the pumpkin spice sentiment from the Pumpkins set would look perfect in the same application. So I followed her basic layout, making tweaks and changes that better suited the look I was going for and even used the leaf stamps that come with Layla Loves Leaves to add window cling decals to the front of my pastry case for some extra seasonal charm.  There is nothing wrong with being inspired by the cards we see from our fellow crafters, it’s a great way to boost our creative bravery and try something new. Just be sure to give credit where credit is due. It doesn’t take anything away from the card you’ve made and  I’m sure it will make their day to know that something they created sparked creativity in someone else. And isn’t it that flow of sharing ideas and inspiration that makes our crafting community so amazing to begin with?
Stay crafty my friends!
