SCENIC SATURDAYS with AMYBELLA

It’s Scenic Saturday with Amybella!

Www.Stampingbella.com : rubberstamp used: uptown girl Melinda and sketchy backdrop. Card by Amy Young

hello Bellas!

Amy here, with a new Scenic Saturday card to share. Since the latest release, I have become quite addicted to the Sketchy Corner Backdrop. I literally can’t stop thinking of all the different character stamps that will look amazing with it. I’ve already got a line-up of several older Uptown Girls waiting to be paired with it and the first to get inked up is the lovely Melinda has a Map that you see here. I stamped Melindainto the bottom right corner first, masked her off, then stamped the Sketchy Corner in the upper left-hand side of the card. This placement helps make the perspective look correct between the much larger Melinda and the smaller street of buildings by bringing her closer to us, the viewer, and pushing the street corner way off into the distance. Before removing Melinda’s mask I moved the card front in my Misti and stamped the smaller buildings a second time over on the right side of the card too. This filled the empty space quite nicely and creates the illusion that the city continues going on just “off screen”. With her map and camera Melinda instantly looks like a tourist lost in a foreign city, trying to get her bearings straight. This is also my first time giving the buildings red tile roofs and I love how they add an exotic touch to the scene. The sunset sky and long shadows tell us that night will soon be upon Melindaso hopefully she finds whatever cafe or restaurant that she is looking for soon.  🙂

Stay crafty my friends!
