it’s SCENIC SATURDAY with AMYBELLA!

www.stampingbella.com: rubber stamp used: BUNDLE GIRL WITH BERRIES. card by AMY YOUNG

Hello friends!

Amy here with a new Scenic Saturday card to share and I couldn’t wait to ink up another stamp from the newest release to hit the Stamping Bella store. This adorable little sweetheart is Bundle Girl with Berries and she is helping to heal her birdie friend who seems to have hit a rough patch. Because the characters in this stamp run a bit on the smaller size, I was concerned that they might get lost if I colored them into a full A2 sized scene. Instead, I grabbed a large circle die and stamped them onto it where the branch spanned all the way from one side of the circle to the other. This limited the size of my ‘canvas’ which not only sped up the coloring process but also guaranteed they would remain the stars of the show. Above the branch I filled in the top 2/3 of the circle with a warm, buttery sky and below the branch I loosely sketched in a variety of different trees in three different fall inspired colors to fill the bottom 1/3. This rule of thirds is a simple design trick that works on any shape or size canvas, creating a visual weight in your design that is very pleasing to the eye. When it came to coloring Bundle Girl’s outfit and the bird’s plumage I stuck with that same autumnal color palette. Finally, I was ready to get my completed fall scene onto a card base and I chose card stock colors that played back to the leaves I had colored on the branch. I split them by that same 2/3 vs. 1/3 trick and lined up the branch in the scene with the die cut edge of the darker yellow card stock. I then found some paper leaves in my craft stash that matched perfectly and cute enamel dots that looked like berries. It’s a pretty simple card design but I really love how everything ties together. 🙂

Thanks so much for stopping by and stay crafty my friends!

I love the colors in this card & the stamp is so cute! I’d get this stamp because it’s so cute but I don’t know many people who are sick or injured, darn it! Not that I want people to get sick or injured so I could buy this stamp but I want it! Great job with this card!
