DT Thursday: Create a Treat Box Card using Sandiebella’s Step by Step Tutorial

It’s time for another fantastic DT Thursday post! This week our awesome Sandiebella is showing you how to make a beautiful Treat Box Card – perfect for sending someone a little treat at Christmas or any time of year!  Click through to keep reading for the step by step tutorial.

Supply List:

White Card
Christmas themed patterned papers (Authentique)
Scoring board & bone folder
Adhesive
3D Foam tape/dots
Chocolate (for inside the treat box)

Step By Step Instructions:

Cut one piece of white card measuring 6.5″ wide x 11.25″ long
On the 11.5″ side score at 0.25″, 0.75″, 2.25″, 2.75″ & 7.75″

On the 6.5″ side, score at 0.25″, 0.75″, 5.75″ & 6.25″

Fold and crease all the score lines with a bone folder.

On each side of the 6.5″ side, cut away pieces as marked, and taper the edges of each of the tabs.

Use a paper trimmers or scissors to cut away the outside sections as indicated below.

This is what it should look like at this point.

With the outside facing up, apply double sided tape, or strong wet glue, to the 0.25″ tab at the end.

Flip the card over so that the inside is facing up and fold over to create a box on the inside of the card.

Fold in the tabs on the top and bottom of the box, ensuring they close properly.

Cut three pieces of white card measuring 3.25″ x 4.75″ and one piece measuring 1.25″ x 4.75″. Cut three pieces of patterned paper measuring 3 1/8″ x 4 5/8″ and one piece measuring 1 1/8″ x 4 5/8″.
Adhere the patterned papers to the white card to make panels.

Adhere a panel to both sections of the inside of the card, and along the top of the box.

Adhere the final panel to the outside of the card.

Colour up the Gingerbread House and matt it with  white card, leaving a 1/8″ border all around.

Sponge some ink around the house, if desired.

Adhere the Gingerbread house down onto the front of the card using 3D foam tape, or dots.

Cut a panel of white card and adhere to the inside of the card, where you can write your message.

Finally, adhere the sentiment across the card and it’s done 🙂
