Time for another awesome DT Thursday tutorial! This week Sandiebella is sharing the instructions to make an adorable Carousel Card featuring those scrummy little Stamping Bella dragons!
Cut four pieces of white card measuring 6″ x 6″. Score all four pieces at 3″, flip 90 degrees and score again at 3″. Score diagonally once.
Turn the card so that the diagonal is running from top left to bottom right. On the bottom left 3″ square, score at 2.5″
Cut away the bottom left panel, to the 2.5″ scoreline, and make a tab by tapering in the edges.
Cut the angles to the same angle of the scoreline. I like to nick a little piece out of the very corner, for a neater fold.
Fold the diagonals mountain and the vertical/horizontal lines valley. Crease with a bone folder.
Apply glue or double sided tape to the inside of the 0.5″ tab and adhere to the outside of the panel beside it.
Burnish with a bone folder.
Ensure the tab isn’t overlapping the diagonal scoreline. If it is, just trim it away with a scissors.
Fold up the centre and crease all the score lines well.
Make all four sections.
Once you have all four sections made, apply glue to the outside and adhere them together.
Do not adhere the first and last one together.
Cut 10 pieces of white card measuring 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ and 10 pieces of patterned paper measuring 2.75″ x 2.75″
Adhere the patterned papers to the white card to make 10 decorative panels.
Adhere 8 of the panels the inside walls of each section
Cut 4 pieces of patterened paper measuring 2 7/8″ x 2 7/8″ and cut each one diagonally.
Adhere them to each side of the scorelines within each section.
Cut, or punch 4 circles, and the same amount of smaller circles.
Stamp, colour and cut out the dragons using the coordinating dies. If you don’t have the dies, you can fussy cut around each one.
Adhere each of the smaller circles to the larger ones and then, using 3D foam, stick a dragon on each one. Stamp and cut out the sentiment, either with a paper trimmer or die.
Add some small embellishments to the sentiments.
Cut two lengths of ribbon measuring approx 9″
Adhere the ribbon to the back and front.
Once the ribbon is secure, adhere the 2 remaining panels.
Cut the large Dragon sentiment, either with a paper trimmer or a square die
Adhere it to the front of the closed card and add embellishments as desired.
Use the ribbon to tie the card closed, booklet style, and to keep the card open by tying the back and front together. Ensure the centre of each section is pinched up slightly so that the card will spin when pushed.

What an Awesome Tutorial will have to give this one a go. <3
Oh this is awesome! I’m going to have to try this one! Thanks so much for sharing! 🙂
I love, love, love this! Even though your tutorial is great, I don’t think i could make this card. I thank you for showing this to us though.
A dear friend of mine, Patty, made this darling project for me! It’s a wonderful keepsake, congratulating me on the arrival of our newest grandson. What a unique little project!! I will treasure it forever. <3
Thank you for the wonderful directions. I plan on making one for a good friend's grandchild!
This is amazing. I hope to make a few of these for my daughter when she goes to HS in a new school (most of her friends are going to another school)… It would be nice to give her a memories card for her to have and give copies to her friends for the 1st day of school.
Thank you for a great tutorial, must try this!
When you show it broken down it doesn’t look so monumental, but doing it may be a little harder to do. But I love the sentiments, and will take the advice!! lol I would love to make this card!!
Thank you so much! This card style is so popular in the UK and the EU, I had always admired it but could never figure out how to make one!! I did not even know this was called a “carousel card.” I usually see them decorated so each section looks like a room, ie. for Christmas, one room would have a fireplace on the wall, the next room a tree etc. I can’t thank you enough!!!
This looks like something I am going to try. Truly unique. Thanks
We have been set to make a fun fold card for next week challenge so hoping to make one of these. Hopefully I will understand to follow your instructions to the letter, I’m no good with inches but hoping hubby can help hihi TFS
Fun fold card, perfect for our Challenge card we been set for next week.Thank you for your great tutorial x
I saw this cool looking card on Pinterest and decided that I had to write the directions down so that I could make it, but of course use what I have at home. I will more than likely turn it into a Christmas Carousel card. Love those adorable dragons..
I have some Stampingbella stamps too but I am thinking about making a Christmas version one of this. I love fancy fold cards.
