a little something I wanted to share

Sistahs,

we all go through our ups and downs.. and our sideways-es.. We always need to remind ourselves to live our lives to the fullest.. to pretend each day is our last and to tell the people we love exactly how we feel.

Here is a little “trailer” of a video I wanted to share with you.  It’s about one of my greatest friends in high school in Montreal and about the hardships she went through and is overcoming every single day.  This little story is about hope.  About love.  About getting your message out.

Taly is a fantastic woman.. one of the strongest people I know.  She wrote a letter to Oprah about her story.. and she just had her segment produced for the OWN network.  It is sad.. it is inspiring..

mwah Taly and my sistahs.

    OMG…what an moving video. ((sob)) I cannot imagine what this family has gone through but this video touched my heart and made me so thankful for my own family. I wish Taly and her children so much love and happiness after all they have gone through. I have to go call my husband now and tell him I love him!

    What a touching video. I lost a cousin to leukemia when he was about the same age. He and his wife had also been through some good and bad to finally be brought together in marriage but sadly, just after their marriage came his diagnosis. Their entire marriage was marked by his illness. I don’t know what ever happened to his widow but I hope that she has moved on to have a happy ever after. I know he would have wanted that for her. Taly, I hope you and your children have a happy ever after, too.

    Sniff, sniff…. My heart just breaks for that family, but Taly is obviously a rock. She will bring these two precious children through this with so much love and courage. Thanks, Emily, for sharing – certainly makes todays ‘problems’ seem like petty roadblocks. Hugs…

    Thank you Emily for sharing this.

    Thank you to Taly for reminding us that we are not alone in this demon known as cancer. That we must all continue to look for our “happily ever afters” even on the darkest of days.

    Taly, and any others reading this who are going through a struggle, I hope that many blessings find their way to your family.

    I was crossing my fingers to hear that the story had a happy ending… Dying young is so so so unfair… I applaud Taly for being so strong and getting her story known. This is a very sad and a very inspiring story. Emily, thank you for sharing it with us!

    …as soon as I heard Leukemia I sobbed!!! I lost my stepdad to it on June 1st, 2008 and a good friend who passed away on Christmas Eve. She was also 34 and would’ve celebrated her 35th b-day on the 9th. She too left behind a 1 year old. My heart breaks for Taly. She seems like just a strong woman who will raise her children with such wonderful memories of their dad. Thank-you so much for sharing, as much as we all know life is precious, we all need to be reminded time to time. (((Hugs)))

    when i was on ‘tour’ I sat next to a girl who was a nursing student who specialized in oncology. when we parted I hugged her and thanked her for taking on such a job because life can be unfair, and we need people like her to help us through, and we need people like your friend Taly to help us carry on. {sniff}
