Thursday with SandieBella: Bundle Girl Bunny Easter Surprise Card

Stamp Bundle Girl Bunny onto blending card and fussy cut around the outline. Set aside to work on the box.

For the card base, cut one piece of card measuring 4″ x 9-5/8″. Score at 4″ and 5-5/8″ on the long side.

To make the boxes, cut four pieces of card measuring 6.5″ x 5″. Repeat the following for each box:

  • On the long side, score at 1.5″, 3″, 4.5″ and 6″
  • On the shorter side, score at 1.5″, 3″ and 4.5″
  • With the 0.5″ sections on the right and top, cut down on each score line to the second intersecting score line, and cut up from the bottom to the first intersecting score line.
  • Remove the tab that is second from the left on the top.
  • Trim down the first and third tabs to approx. half their size.
  • Slightly taper the edges of the 0.5″ section on the fourth tab.
  • On the bottom tabs, cut each side of the score line and remove the excess. This will taper in the tabs for a better fit.
  • Cover the four centre sections and the long tab on the top with designer paper.

Take the 4″ x 9-5/8″ piece, scored at 4″ and 5-5/8″, and adhere a length of ribbon to the inside of each end, centered horizontally.

Cover the ribbon with mat layers of card and then designer paper. Cover the centre 1.5″ section with mat layers also.

Apply adhesive to the outside of the 0.5″ tab on the side. Fold over and adhere to the inside of the opposite end.

Fold into a box shape

On the bottom, fold in 3 of the tabs, apply adhesive to the inside of the last tab and adhere.

Apply adhesive to the bottom of each box, line it up on the inside of the card base, leaving approx 1/4″ from the sides.

Fold the top of the card base over the boxes and decorate with designer paper.

Tie the ribbon to secure it.

Stamp the sentiment from the Easter Sentiments set then cut out using a pennant or label die.

Create a mat for the image using a shaped die and paper layers.

Adhere the mat to the top of the card and then, using 3D foam tape, adhere the image to the centre. Position the sentiment beneath the image.

Add some enamel dots to finish

Scenic Saturday with Amybella: Delivery from the Stork Scene Card

Hello friends!

Amy here on the Blogabella with a brand new Scenic Saturday card to share. I found myself drawn to another one of the super cute baby themed stamps that are part of the latest Spring release, this time it was the Delivery from the Stork stamp that got inked up.

Stamps Used:

Rather than create a card that leaned into the soft pinks and blues of most baby cards I couldn’t wait to take advantage of the story telling potential of this adorable image. So I colored a roof beneath the stork’s feet to make it appear as if he’s arrived at his destination.

I then added the abstract skyline of an urban city stretching off into the distance, broken up here and there by a few tall tree tops. I started with the buildings that are farthest away, sketching them in using the lightest greys and blue violets, then built up each layer with slightly darker colors until we get to the scene in the foreground. This light to dark method is called aerial perspective and it is a simple way to achieve a sense of distance in a landscape.

Like a scene out of a cartoon, you can just imagine the couple inside the house excited to receive their little bundle of love. The sentiment is again another one from the new Baby Sentiment set and the green of the tree behind helps to pull focus to the message amidst the busyness of the rest of the scene.

Stay crafty my friends!

Bellarific Friday: Inspired By

It’s time for more incredible Bellarific inspiration – must be Friday again! This week the Babes have been inspired by each other to create some absolutely gorgeous cards. Let’s take a look!

The Cards!

It’s so fun to see which cards and team members each of the Babes have been inspired by on these weeks. It’s also always fun to see the stamps everyone chooses each week. This time it seems our Whimsabella DaisyDream has been popular – which is no surprise, as she has been very popular in general, popping up in lots of orders!

And here she is, looking so sweet in pastel colours on Jenny’s card!
