Art Journaling TOOSDAY on WENNNNsday

Hiya sistahs!

Sorry for the delay in this post… it’s been a crazy coupla days with the store closing.. people visiting.. etc.. So please forgive me!  I just wanted to let all the local sistahs not to be sad about the store closing… I am SO happy about my decision and I cannot wait to focus on what I love.. please continue to follow me on INSTAGRAM (love that app) and FACEBOOK and of course my bloggypoo!  Now again for the local sistahs.. I may be making you happy… so stay tuned because I may have some good news for you 🙂

Now for Art Journaling TOOSDAY on WENNNSDAY

Pinky dinky doo (my soul sistah Lori) sent me a link about a very SQUISHY DELICIOUSLY sweet older gentleman talking about how and why he keeps a journal…  It is very short and so interesting to watch.  It just proves to all of us that we don’t need all the fancy tools.. paper qualities.. different pens and glue sticks.. cases… (I am talking about myself here..LOL)… it’s about what’s in your head, and what should come out on paper..

watch “mr Squishy” and his bio is under the video.  He has since passed away but imagine the legacy he has left his family.

Ok now the theme for this week was to use your favourite colour!

Let’s see what da sistahood came up with!

Here's my page.. I LOVE watercolor and I LOVE pink and I LOVE washi tape 🙂
Here is Dolores' page
here is Heather's page
Here is MINIBELLA Emily G joining in on the fun with her Mom Heather!
Mary's page!
Pinky's page
Violet's page

This week was TERRIFIC sistahs!!  I am so impressed!  I LOVED IT!

ok for next week’s theme.. I would like you to make a stenciled background with sprays/pastels/gesso/paint.. whatever you are in the mood for.. and maybe incorporate some journaling about where you’re at right now.. how you’re feeling.. what’s up in your life.. what’s on your mind…

Mwah to da sistahs who take on the challenges!  It makes my heart SINGITY (bella ism)  SING!

and THANK you pinky for reminding me about that video so that we can share it with da sistahood!

Em

  1. thanks for sharing Mr. Squishy video with us. His format is simple but effective and inclusive. Colour challenges are always fun to see.

  2. Emily I love the girls face on yours and how you let the watercolour pink just slide and go down the page as it wanted to. I love dribbles and drips like that but never seem to be able to leave them alone on my page. I think I “over colour too much” sometimes. I like how you were able to leave it and it totally worked and balanced with your other elements!

  3. Mary I love the vibrancy of the colours you used! Are they Dilusions Spray inks ? I also love all the different colours within your circles. How did you keep them looking so crisp with the clean lines, and seperate from the background did you mask them with something? I really like how your whole page came together!!

  4. Violet I love the whimsical nature of your flowers and how you used all colours!
Delores I like the stencil pattern you used, and how you doodle wrote the word Art with the stripes in it and the way your butterflies balance out the bigger letter size of your word ART.
Pinky I like your all around the page border, and I love the poem you used!
    Great stuff this week ladies!!!

  5. Great pages this week – well, except mine. It didn’t turn out as I imagined but then again, I’m my own worse critic. I really don’t have a favorite colour at all. I like some more then others but just couldn’t pick one. Next week’s challenge will be easier for me.

  6. Great work yet again from everyone who participated. Nice group of “Journalista’s” we have here!

Isn’t that video of “Mr. Squishy” (that is what Em and I named him as I think we both just want to give him a hug!) fabulous!! I would love to just sit in that room with a cup of coffee and browse through those books. Imagine the treasures we would find. The lessons we would learn.

We must leave our footprint on this earth in the form of journals, in the form of art, to inspire others. Think of what a treasure it would be if you found a journal that your grandmother, perhaps great-grandmother left behind. Priceless.

  7. Oh #$%&! I forgot to post mine, but I love all the pages. I love Pink! Now I’m getting into yellow and tourquoise. I agree with Pinky imagine comng across a grandmother’s journal. Well, my grandkids will be able to do that…when I have them. This form of art and nostalgia is priceless. I’d love to look at his journals with a cup of coffee and pen, just to write down ideas of what could be added to an art journal. I just made a page from a quote of JFK’s he said “those who make peaceful protest impossible…make violent protest inevitable”. Brilliant.
