Scenic Saturday with Amybella: Oddball Carolers Postcard Scene

Hello friends!

Amy here on the ol’ Blogabella with my final Scenic Saturday of 2024. I thought it would be fitting to end this year with a card featuring one of the most popular card making trends of 2024… postal themed. So I grabbed the cute little Oddball Carolers and made them the stars of this faux post card scene.

Now, the Oddball Carolers come as one single stamp but it was easy to cut them apart into three individual stamps so that I could mask and crowd them closer together into this smaller space. The most important thing to remember when doing this kind of layered stamping is to lift whoever is going to be in the back a little higher up. This gives the character the illusion of space, making them appear to be standing behind those in the front. Over on the fake postage stamp I added an ornament from the retired Little Bits Elves set and colored it to match the caroler’s clothing. Once the coloring was complete I masked off the kids again, as well as the stamp and space that says ‘post card’ so that I could use my Copic airbrush system to spray on the kraft looking background color. I made sure to stop short of spraying all the way to the bottom of the card so it would look like the carolers had some snow to be standing on. From there all I had to do was add the various postage themed accents, a bit of falling snow and this fantastic sentiment from the Christmas Sentiment set to complete this fun holiday themed ‘post card’.  🙂

Wishing all the sistahs a Merry Christmas and a crafty New Year!

  1. This is the reason I do not like checking out your stamping bellas blog, Everything is gorgeous, beautiful design and fabulous coloring. I own so many of stamping bella stamps and they never look as good as they do on this blog. But I keep buying them 🙂 :).

  2. I agree with Rebekka – I love checking the blog because your cards are so absolutely gorgeous. I try to recreate them but they never look as great as your cards (but I have a ball trying!) Thank you for your inspiration and dedication. Happy New Year!
