Thursday by Sandiebella: Oddballs Bats About Candy Double Swing Card

Sandie is back this week with an amazing tutorial featuring some of our NEW RELEASE stamps!

Double Swing Card

Supplies:

Halloween themed designer papers
Scoring board and bone folder
Pencil, ruler & eraser
Craft knife
Halloween themed dies (optional)

How to:

Cut black card:
(1x) 10.5″ x 10″
(1x) 10″ x 10″
(1x) 5″ x 5″
(1x) 4-7/8″ x 4-7/8″
Cut designer paper:
(5x) 4-7/8″ x 4-7/8″
(1x) 4.75″ x 4.75″
(2x) 3-3/8″ x 3-7/8″

Score the 10.5″ x 10″ piece of card at 5″ and 10″

Score the 10″ x 10″ piece of card at 5″

On the 10.5″ long piece, taper in the edges of the 0.5″ section.

Apply adhesive to the 0.5″ section and adhere to the 5″ x 5″ piece of card.

Measure down 1″ from the top, up 0.5″ from the bottom, and in 0.5″ from each edge of the first 5″ panel

Draw lines

Repeat on the second 5″ panel, but this time measure down 0.5″ and up 1″

Cut on the pencil lines and remove the card inside the lines.

On the 10″ x 10″ piece, repeat the measurements as above

Mark at 2.5″ and 7.5″ with a pencil and draw a line from top to bottom

Score the 2.5″ and 7.5″ lines above and below the squares in the middle.

Using a craft knife, cut along the lines only to the 2.5″ line. Repeat on the opposite side, cutting the opposite side of the centre.

Valley fold the 5″ score line, and mountain fold the 2.5″ and 7.5″ score lines. Apply adhesive as shown, then adhere to the left edge of the 15″ x 5″ piece (ensure you are matching up the 0.5″ or 1″ top section at the top of both pieces)

Apply adhesive to the other side, as shown, then fold over the second window and adhere – lining up the edges with the 10″ score line.

To add paper to the inside, take 2 of the 4-7/8 pieces of paper, measure in 2-3/8″ on one side, then measure down .078″ from the top and 3/8″ from the bottom of one piece. Mirror the second piece but with the top and bottom measurements switched. Before gluing it them down, slide them into place and trim as necessary.

Take two more 4-7/8″ pieces of paper – measure in 3/8″ on three sides and 7/8″ on the remaining side. Repeat for the second piece of paper being mindful of any directional pattern on the paper.

Adhere the remaining 4-7/8″ piece of paper to the inside of the remaining 5″ section.

Layer the 4.-7/8″ square card and the 4.75″ piece of paper to the front

Stamp Oddball Bats about Candy onto white card. Cut out using a 3″ x 3.75″ rectangle die.

Colour using your preferred medium.

Adhere the image to the first swing piece.

Decorate the second swing piece then adhere the sentiment from the Spooky Sentiments stamp set

Adhere the two remaining pieces of paper to the opposite sides of the swing pieces.
