It’s Scenic Saturday with Amybella !

Hello Bellas,
Amy here with a fall inspired card for this Scenic Saturday. Growing up in apple country, September always meant that it was time for harvest. Big bin trucks and tractors took over the road ways and the clang of aluminum ladders could be heard over the sounds off those working to pick and sort all of the fresh fruit. With those memories in mind I decided to ink up the precious Caramel Apple Bundle Girl with her sweet treat on a stick. The Bundle Girls are a favorite of mine as I love adding prints and textures to their over sized hats and scarves. This particular cutie got some cable knit texture added to her ensemble, which I think really ups the warm and cozy look that I was going for with her. I also used my Copic markers to add the simple button details to the front of her coat. As for the background, I wanted it to look like this Bundle Girl is standing in the middle of an orchard with the rows of trees growing in straight lines on either side. A simple way to create this look of a vanishing horizon line, is to think of the scene like an hour glass. The top half of the hour glass is your sky and the bottom is your ground. Then you just fill in the empty space on either side with the trees, making sure that the tree trunks shrink smaller as they recede back to the center of the card. This is also a great design trick to take advantage of when you want to pull focus right to a certain part of your scene, which is usually your main character. By having the vanishing point end just behind Bundle Girl’s head the viewers eye is instantly drawn right to her knit cap and sweet face. 🙂

Well, that’s it from me today. Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are getting to enjoy all of the bounties of the Fall season.
