It’s Scenic Saturday with Amybella

Hello again, Amy here with a new Scenic Saturday card to share. I know I’ve been on a bit of a Bundle Girl kick here recently and I’ve got one more to share today before I branch back out to other cuties in my stamp stash. I’ve had Bundle Girl Tea Party for quite some time now and she hadn’t been inked up yet. Part of the reason why is because I really wanted to pair her with the smallest stamp in the Chocolate Bunnies set but I didn’t own that set yet. So, I remedied that situation with my latest order and now I was ready to ink them both up. I also came across this little egg that was originally part of a Bundle Girl Bunny stamp that had a manufacturer flaw, making most of the image distorted. Once I had replaced the flawed stamp, I trimmed the little egg off before discarding the rest of the image, leaving me with this handy dandy mini egg… waste not, want not, right? Anywho, I used that egg to add some colorful Robin’s Egg candies to their tea party.

And oh, what a tea party it is. The first thing I made sure to do when I began coloring was to take a green Copic marker and trace in a wonky rectangle shape around the party goers, then colored in all the space outside of it leaving a white blanket shape beneath them that I would later add color and pattern to. Next, I stamped the sentiment from the Easter Sentiments set and colored it to look like a wood sign staked into the ground. Next, I started blocking in the forest trees with a light brown marker, larger in the front and gradually getting smaller as they recede into the distance. I also added some darker browns and bark and moss details to the closer trees to help bring them forward even more when compared to the small, light-colored trees. This is called aerial perspective and it is a great trick for creating the illusion of depth in your scenes. And that’s all it took for this fun, Easter scene to come together. 🙂

Thanks so much for dropping by and stay crafty my friends!
