Thursday with Sandiebella: Create a Pop Up Box Card featuring Penguins Bearing Gifts

Time for another fantastic step by step from our amazing Sandiebella!

Penguins Pop-Up Box Card

To see full instructions on how to make a pop-up box card, click HERE for a Halloween box I made last year. This box is sized differently but still folds to an A2 size card for easy mailing.

Supplies:
(Penguins Bearing Gifts rubber stamps and coordinating Dies available HERE)
Card
Designer papers
Scoring board and bone folder
Scissors
Other Dies: Glacier peak,  stitched circles, pierced scalloped circles.
How to:
To  make the panels for the box cut:
White card:
1x  3 1/8″ x 2 1/8″
1x  3 1/8″ x 1 7/8″
1x  2 1/8″ x 2 1/8″
1x  2 1/8″ x 1 7/8″
1x  4 1/8″ x 3 1/8″
Patterned paper:
1x  3″ x 2″
1x  3″ x 1.75″
1x  2″ x 2″
1x  2″ x 1.75″
1x  4″ x 3″
Glacier Peaks
3″ x 3.75″
Also cut the middle size Merry sentiment.
Adhere all the patterned paper pieces to the coordinating white card pieces and assemble the glacier peaks on the back panel as shown below.

For the box card base, cut one piece of card measuring 11.5″ x 4.25″.

Score on the 11.5″ side at 0.5″, 2.75″, 6″ and 8.25″
Score on the 4.25″ side at 2.25″ cutting across the  0.5″, 2.75″, and 6″ scorelines stopping at the 8.25″ line. This leaves one large panel measuring 3.25″ x 4.25″ at the end, and is the back section of the box. The bottom part of the box is 2.25″ in height, and the top part, which will be made into the flaps, is 2″.
Cut down from the top on each of the scorelines as shown. On the 0.5″ section cut away the top section and taper the ends of the bottom section to make a tab.
Adhere the panels to the outside of the box bottom and the inside of the box top (flaps). Apply adhesive to the 0.5″ tab and adhere to the inside opposite end BEFORE adhering the largest panel to the inside back.

For the inside pieces, cut two pieces of card measuring 4.25″ x 2.25″ and score on the long side at 0.5″ and 3.75″

Fold and crease the scorelines, then taper the ends as shown.

Apply adhesive to the each 0.5″ end and adhere to each side of the box, spacing them so that you have 3 even sized sections. They don’t have to be perfectly even.

Cut more snow peaks and adhere them to fronts of the inserts.

Stamp all three Penguins Bearing Gifts and colour with your desired medium. Cut out using the coordinating dies, or fussy cut with a precision scissors.

Cut 3 scalloped circles and 3 smaller stitched circles. Adhere the stitched circles to the scalloped circles and then adhere the Penguin with the fish to the front of one of them, using foam tape.

Adhere the circle with the penguin to the front flap and adhere the other two penguins on the snowy mountains. Adhere the other two circle panels to the side flaps. Stamp and colour two sets of the gloves from Christmas Spirit Envelope Accents, fussy cut and adhere to the circles on the side flaps.

Adhere the Merry sentiment across the back panel to complete the card.
