Amy here again with another Saturday post. For my card today I was inspired to ink up these cute Cave Kids and have a go at coloring them in to an actual cave. What makes this so much fun is knowing that you have to get creative with how the fire light is going to affect everything in the scene, because let’s face it, without the fire, this scene is just one solid black card front, LOL! So planning for that started at the very beginning of the card making process, when I was stamping in the Cave Kids I made sure to wipe the ink away from each foot that would eventually be behind the fire. Next I could sketch in the fire itself and then start casting in shadows opposite it because it is the shadows that really sell this look. As a fun finishing touch I figured their cozy cave needed some wall paintings to help jazz it up.
Thanks so much for joining me today, I hope you enjoyed this “blast from the distant past”. 🙂
