Hi folks, Elaineabella here wondering where another week has disappeared to! We’re hurtling toward the festive season, so I’ve got a Christmas/Winter themed post for you today featuring one of our fantastic new Christmas stamps: Chickadeer!
Join me by clicking through to read the post, watch a colouring video showing exactly how I coloured a winter background for Chickadeer and pin a step by step guide for easy reference.
At the end of the post you will also find links to some other recent colouring related posts that you may find useful!
If you haven’t taken a look at the Stamping Bella Holiday 2016 release yet, what are you waiting for? 😉 Little Chickadeer has a host of other festive friends of all shapes and sizes, all ready to make your Christmas crafting magical (and inject a healthy dose of festive humour).
Here’s the card I created for the release:
As you can see, I coloured a simple winter background for little Chickadeer to drag his presents through. Actually, are they his presents he’s hauling, or is he being generous and delivering some? I’m not entirely sure. Either way he looks very pleased with himself!
The background I coloured could not be easier to do. Seriously. Backgrounds do not need to be terribly complicated and involved to make an impact, in fact it’s often better if they’re not over the top. Grab your markers and have a go!
Watch my simple colouring video for the background colouring below or in HD over on YouTube.
Full Copic marker info is included on the video.
You can also watch a speed colouring video showing how I coloured Chickadeer himself over on YouTube: Copic Colouring Stamping Bella Chickadeer.
Please feel free to save this image or pin it to your Pinterest board. It is intended for your reference. I do ask that you do not repost this image on your own blog or directly send the image to other people, instead please direct them to this blog post to obtain it for themselves.
See? Easy!

Can I ask a question? I only have about 4 Copic markers but have tons of other markers. Could I try this with some of them? I like what you did and I think I can do this. I have the Santa stamp and it would look good with a background like this. When I do it, I’ll send it in.
Thanks so much for sharing! I sometimes struggle with what kind of background to do. Your tips help so much! Thanks! 🙂
A wonderful tutorial and a fabulous card – thank you Elaine!
