Elainebella here! Time for a little Stamp It Saturday fun with some of the newly released stamps.

Stamping Bella Stamp It Saturday: Mini Frenchie Garden Scene with Colouring Video

When I decided that I wanted to create a scene card for the Spring 2018 release previews last week, I thought it would be fun to give you a little look at how the scene came together, and also show you the colouring process for the entire scene.

As soon as I saw the Mini Frenchies stamp set and the Garden Backdrop stamp I knew I needed to put them together on a card. As I was considering how to arrange and colour the images, I realised that I wanted a more complete scene – what lay behind the archway? While pondering, my gaze fell on the Summer Backdrop stamp and the decision was made! A little masking and stamping and I had a full scene to colour. I’m in love with how good the two backdrops look masked together to create a full background.

Those little frenchies…could they be any cuter? I don’t think so! We definitely need lots more dog and puppy stamps – make sure you let Emily know you agree!

The sentiment I stamped in the archway is one of the stamps that comes in the Danielle Donaldson onlyGretchen stamp set.

Here’s a little peek at how the scene came together:

TOP TIP: I’ve mentioned it in previous posts, but I will say it again! Clear acetate sheets are your friend when building a scene or stamping a sentiment on a card. I have one dedicated to just this purpose that I store in my MISTI stamp tool, but you can also use the acetate storage sheets that come with your stamps. I used the sheet to help figure out where I wanted to place elements of my scene, and to make sure I had my stamps lined up straight in my MISTI before stamping. I use it every single time I stamp a sentiment, to make sure I get my sentiment where I want it and straight!

I love how you did that! I just learned how to mask from Jennifer McGuire and I love doing it. Before I learned how, I often wondered how it was done. I love all the colors and those puppies are the cutest thing ever! We need more puppy stamps, Em! How about some kitties too? I had an all white, fluffy, Maine Coon cat that was so cute!

Fabulous scene Elaine. Couldn’t agree more about the acetate sheets. I also keep one with my misti. It’s fab for lining any images up, stamping sentiments straight. I also use it to decide where to put sentiments…just stamping sentiment onto acetate and move it around till you find the perfect spot.
