Spotlight on Uptown Girls

The Uptown Girls are firm favourites in the Stamping Bella collection. They have a devoted following in the stamping community, and have graced the front of many a card with their enviable long legs and perfect outfits. They always have the perfect outfit for any occasion, but hey, that’s the beauty of being a stamp! Me on the other hand, well, let’s not go there. 😉

Since many of us are in the midst of Christmas card preparation, or at least we probably should be very soon, let’s take a good look at the winter or festive themed Uptown Girls in the range. If you’ve been having difficulty getting in the mood for crossing the cards off that To Do list, maybe this will help you get inspired!

Uptown Girl Quinn and Her Boots

I had to start with Quinn. She is my favourite EVER. That coat, those boots. THE KNEES! LOVE. Just a lovely image for any winter occasion. I’ve used her on winter birthday cards, on Christmas cards, general notecards. I love colouring her.

As you can see below, I love Quinn so much that I have merrily chopped her up on more than one occasion! This is a great way to get more use from your images, allowing you to fit them on smaller cards, or to create interesting designs.

Since you may well be in the swing of festive card making, here’s another enduring winter/Christmas favourite – Uptown Girl Eve under the Mistletoe.

Love colouring that dress. It is a great one for practicing on, whether you’re looking to do some simple blending and shading, or add pleats and folds to the mix.

Another firm favourite is Uptown Girl Savannah has a Star.

That tree dress. Oh my. Amazing fun to colour, and it looks incredible when finished. Awesome image that looks fantastic as a striking pop of festive colour on a clean and simple design, or as the pretty focal point on a more embellished card.

How does she pull it off? Looking that stylish, sitting on a chimney, dangling a bundle of presents and sipping on a martini? I couldn’t manage it sober. 😉

I love all the cards! Very festive and very colorful and that’s the way I like my cards. I also notice that the stamps are the stars here and not the embellishments. That’s also the way I like my cards. I’ve seen some that have so many embellishments on the front of the card along with the stamp or image that I don’t know what to look at first. The image that the person stamped & colored or not depending on the stamp gets lost along with all the other things going on in the front. I have to learn how to color those folds & make them. I think I have a video on how to do it. They look so beautiful!
Thank you for all the amazing stamps and for getting me in the mood for Christmas. I should have started my cards long ago but I have 4 done. It’s not enough but for now, it will do. I got 2 new Christmas stamps from you and I can’t wait to use them and make some amazing cards!

  6. Oh what great cards! I want to start making Christmas cards…..but I have to get my Halloween cards made first! LOL!! 🙂
