it’s BELLARIFIC FRIDAY sistahs!

I hope you’re having a great week and I so hope you are loving all of our posts… I think they are so amazing ifidosaysomyself LOL

We are all in Montreal again.. we helped settle my father into the rehabilitation facility for his hip AGAIN.. and therapy has begun AGAIN.. it seems like he is recovering at a more rapid pace this time but his mindset is still quite negative so it is VERY tough..  but we are plowing through it hoping things will get better.  Meanwhile we are enjoying the city .. actually showing the kidlets where we are from.. from our old houses where we lived to restaurants we went to as kids to McGill University where I graduated from.. going for walks and of course ending almost every night with this..  please note MAJOR DIET STARTS in AUGUST LOL.

Ryan discovered this ice cream place called “LA DIPERIE”… omg the concept of this place is that you order vanilla soft serve, then they have 30 hot dips to dip the vanilla into… dips like coffee crisp.. dulce de leche.. oreo cookie, banana, … AND THEN.. wait for it… wait for it… they dip THAT into any TOPPING you want.. like oreos.. coffee crisp.. hazelnuts.. fleur de sel.. lavender.. smarties.. you name it.. is that INSANE OR WHAT?

Here’s Tyler with his OREO dip and OREO TOPPING

Here’s Jayden with her COOKIE DOUGH dip and OREO TOPPING.  I CANNOT EVEN…

we also tried to teach the kids about the Montreal “joie de vivre”.. just the feeling I used to have growing up… We randomly walked into this restaurant and found Ryan’s oldest friend and his family.. we pulled tables together, drinks flowing.. laughing.. reminiscing.. it was just the therapy and nostalgia I needed.. We then went to St. Viateur bagel at 11:30 PM.. a Montreal institution.. and couldn’t help MAWING (it’s my word for shoving down my throat) the FRESH HOT WOOD BURNING OVEN BAGELS …. sooooo good.  If you ever have a chance to visit Montreal you HAVE to go to St. Viateur.  Promise?  k

  1. Oh my gosh! Everyone did such a really nice job, especially yours truly! LOL I have a question about some of those cards though. The ones with the flowers sticking out from Sandiebella or the one with the wooden hearts by Kerribella, how do you mail them out? Do you use a padded envelope and won’t it cost more to mail those cards? I love that idea and would love to do that on one or more of my cards but I don’t want to spend the extra to mail it. I’d have to present the card to them in person. Last year I mailed a card to somebody that had heavier card stock then I normally use for Christmas. It was gold and it got sent back saying it was $2.50 to mail it out! Holy cow! The person lives in Nevada and I live in CT so I can’t just present it to them. Maybe if I put it in a different envelope? The post office is making it harder and harder to just mail out a card!
I love all the cards and I was so glad to be able to do one for the challenge! Now I have to put it somewhere and then at Christmas time remember where I put it so that person can receive it! LOL That’s what happens when you make Christmas in July cards. I’ll try to participate in the next challenge.
I hope you dad gets lots better. I think my dad is going through a depression of sorts right now too. He’s starting to cough when he eats again and he won’t do his throat exercises. He’s 92 and he sleeps a lot when he’s not watching TV or we are tube feeding him or he’s eating real food. I hate to see him start to go downhill as I’m sure you hate to see your dad do that too.
I’m going to be creating this weekend so wish me luck with my coloring and card making.

  2. enjoy your time in Montreal… and good luck to your Dad in rehab!
Great inspiration… guess it really is time to start thinking about those Christmas cards…. 🙂 did you say you were having a Christmas release? Any idea when the stamps will be available… just might want to hold off on starting those cards till I see the new stamps! 🙂

  3. Best wishes for your father. My father went through a similar problem: replacing the same hip twice, rehab facility, major depression…it was very hard on the entire family, but it eventually all got back to normal and he was fine. It’s obvious how much love and support your dad is getting. That’s what will help him heal. Keep up the great love and support.

  4. Sorry Emily I just couldn’t do the Christmas in July. Summers here in Canada are way too short. Glad to hear you are finding some enjoyment in your trip to Montreal. Everyone’s cards are fabulous!

  5. Fabbie inspiration from your wonderful team…. and now I have to go EAT after reading your wonderful tales of dipped ice cream and hot bagels!! What a tormentabella!

  6. So glad your Dad seems to be doing better with his recovery! Enjoy the time in your hometown with your kiddos! Love all the cards! Hopefully sometime in the future I can once again join in the fun….having some “issues” with my Dad and his wife….Ugh! 🙂
