It’s Thursday with Sandiebella !

Hiya sistahs, happy Thursday with Sandiebella !

Today Sandiebella teaches us how to make a Tower card!

Supplies:

Guinea with a Key rubber stamp (sentiment included)
Pink card, white card
Designer paper
Scoring board, bone folder, stylus, pencil, ruler, eraser
Stitched circle and scalloped circle dies
Adhesive and foam tape/dots
How to:

Stamp the Guinea image onto white card. Colour using your preferred medium then set the image aside to work on the card.

Card base:
Pink card –
(1x) 5.75″ x 8.25″
Card layers:
White card –
(4x) 7/8″ x 5-5/8″ (side panels, back and front)
(2x) 7/8″ x 4-1/8″ (top and bottom front panels)
(1x) 1-5/8″ x 4-1/8″ (centre front panel)
(1x) 2-1/8″ x 5-5/8″ (back centre panel)
(2x) 3″ x 3″ (front diamond panels)
Paper layers:
(4x) 0.75″ x 5.5″ (side panels, back and front)
(2x) 0.75″ x 4″ (top and bottom front panels)
(1x) 1.5″ x 4″ (centre front panel)
(1x) 2″ x 5.5″ (back centre panel)
(2x) 2-7/8″ x 2-7/8″ (front diamond panels)

Score the card base on the long side at 1″, 2″, 3″, 5.25″, 6.25″, and 7.25″

On each of the score lines, measure and mark at 1″ and 2″ – top and bottom.

On the 1″ marks, cut across from the 1″ score line to the 3″ score line, and from the 5.25″ to the 7.25″ score lines. Repeat at the 2″ mark.

Fold back the outer 1″ sections and burnish with a bone folder.

To fold the scored/cut sections start at the top and mountain fold, then valley fold the next one, then mountain, valley and finally mountain. Try not to fold the inner score line on the valley fold sections.

Repeat on both sides.

Adhere the card layers…front.

… and back.

Adhere down the paper layers. The centre section at the back is for writing a greeting, there is no paper layer.

Cut the image out using a stitched circle die. Cut a larger stitched circle from pink card and then a larger scalloped circle from white card. Adhere them together.

Also adhere the paper layers to the 3″ squares.

Turn the square at an angle, line up the side points to the top edges of the centre middle section, and adhere down. Repeat with the second diamond, lining the side points up with the bottom of the middle front section.

Stamp the sentiment onto a strip on white card and cut out using a ribbon label die. If you don’t have a die, fishtail the ends of a 0.75″ x 3.75″ strip of card with a scissors.

Adhere the sentiment to the bottom front section.

Birdhouse Card

Hiya sistahs, happy Thursday with Sandiebella !

Today Sandiebella teaches us how to make a Birdhouse Card!

Supplies:
Kraft Card
Designer Paper
Scoring board, bone folder/stylus, pencil, ruler, eraser.
Hexagon Dies
How to:
Stamp two birds and two branches from the Oddball Birds stamp set. Colour using your preferred medium, then fussy cut around the outline.

Take the tallest bird and adhere to a 2.25″ strip of card. Set all the images aside to work on the card.

Card base:
Kraft – 11″ x 4.25″
White card –  4″ x 5.25″ (x3) – front, back, and inside front
Designer paper – one each of 4″ x 5.25″ and 3.75″ x 5″ – front and inside back.

Card Stand:
Kraft – 4″ x 2″

Hexagon Dies – 2-5/8″W and 2-1/8″W

Score the 11″ x 4.25″ piece of kraft card on the long side at 5.5″

Make a notch at 3″ and 7″, top and bottom of the card base. When the card base is folded these will be 1.5″ down each side.

Fold the card base in half and on the closed end make a notch at 2-1/8″. Flip over to the other side and again make a notch at 2-1/8″.

Score from one 3″ notch, diagonally through the 2-1/8″ mark, down to the 7″ notch on the opposite side.

Repeat on the other side to create an X as shown.

Take the 4″ x 5.25″ (card front) piece of white card and mark at 2″ on the 4″ side and 1-7/8″ down on each side. Cut from the 2″ mark diagonally to the outside pencil marks. Repeat these steps with the the other two pieces of white card (back and inside front) and the larger piece of designer paper (inside back).
Take the 3.75″ x 5″ (card front) piece of designer paper, mark at 1-7/8″ at the top and 1.75″ down each side. Cut from the centre mark, diagonally to 1.75″ pencil marks.

Adhere the white card and the small designer paper together.

Place the larger hexagon die approx 1.5″ down and centred horizontally. Run through a die cutting machine a few times to cut through both layers.

Adhere the panel to the card front. Reposition the hexagon die and cut out the kraft card.

Take another of the white card pieces and position it inside the front of the card – DO NOT GLUE DOWN. Holding the white card in place, turn over to the front and draw a feint pencil line around the inside of the hexagon shape. Place the smaller hexagon die in the centre of the pencil outline and run though the die cutting machine.

Adhere the card piece inside the card font, centering the white border.

Adhere the paper layer on the inside back.

Fold the diagonal score lines on the card base and crease well with a bone folder. Valley fold the 5.5″ centre score line and pinch in the top of the card. Crease the score lines again.

Take the 4″ x 2″ piece of kraft card and score at 0.5″, 1″, and 1.5″ on the 2″ side.

Mountain valley fold into an M

Apply adhesive to one side and adhere to the inside back of the card, flush to the bottom. Apply adhesive other side and fold the card front down. Use wet glue to give you some wiggle room to line up the ends.

Take the third white card piece and stamp the sentiment from the I Miss Your Face Sentiments set. Adhere to the back of the card.

Take the bird attached to the strip of card and apply adhesive to the bottom part of the strip.

Slide the strip into the card, position the bird with it’s feet over the edge of the hexagon, and adhere the strip to the inside of the card front.

Adhere the branches and the other bird to the card front.

Stamp the sentiment from the Encouragement Sentiments set, cut out using a shaped die. Punch a hole on the end and tie some thread/string through it and into a bow.

Adhere the sentiment to the birdhouse using foam tape.
