Hi all, today is my birthday so I made a birthday card for myself using my favourite colours, techniques, craft supplies and, of course, one of my favourite stamps – Curvy Girl Eats Cake
My favourite colours for cardmaking are pink and teal.
Dress and shoes – BG11, BG13, BG45, BG53, BG57
Flowers – R30, R32, R35
Plate: BV11, BV13
Cake: E51, E53, E55, R30, R32, R35
Leaves: G20, G21, G24
Shadow: W00, W1, W3
A favourite technique of mine is to use a scoring board and stylus to create a frame around the image. I do this by turning the image face down and scoring on the 1/8″ line on all four sides.
The teal, mint and pink papers are a mix from various different brands.
My next favourite thing is to decorate the inside of the card. This does add a lot of weight to the card and is more expensive to mail but I just love the finished look.
I also added a place to hold a gift card – who doesn’t love gift cards??
On the card front I stuck down the card and paper layer.
Then I used strips of contrasting paper and adhered them to the back of the image, before gluing that down onto the paper base layer.
Finally, my favourite embellishment – enamel dots. I have these in just about every colour there is; you could almost say I have an obsession with them!
And here is the finished product! All of my favourites on one card. Happy Birthday to me!
Hello friends!
Note: the online store is temporarily closed until 12th February while the new release and other changes are prepared.
It’s time for another Scenic Saturday here on the Blogabella and I’ve inked up the sweet Bundle Girl with Rose. As she marches along with her large stem of roses it’s not just beautiful blooms that she brings but all her love as well. Which makes her perfect for a card with a subtle Valentine’s Day vibe.
I stamped Bundle Girl with Rose low on the card front and I colored in the expansive sky to fill two thirds of the space. By keeping Bundle Girl and the landscape confined to the bottom third of the card this creates a ratio of space that is pleasing to the eye. The soft cream and pinks of Bundle Girl and her rose stand out against the atmospheric landscape pulling focus right to her. I stamped the sentiment from the Garden Sentiment set in the upper right corner, opposite Bundle Girl, using a pink ink to compliment the flower and add some more balance to the overall design. As a finishing touch I added a trio of die cut butterflies fluttering around the sentiment for just a bit of whimsy.
Stay crafty my friends!

Another throwback from me today, I just haven’t had any time or energy for crafting over the past week or so! Determined to get some colouring done today though… I keep looking at our WONDERLAND themed stamps, it might soon be time for them to come out to play on my desk again…
One of my favourites is the gorgeous Tiny Townie Wonderland Queen of Hearts and you can watch her come to life with Copic marker colouring in my video below!
