it’s BELLARIFIC FRIDAY!!!

Hiya sistahs!  It’s been a crazy month let me tell you and I am so sorry I have been MIA.. I have been kinda MUSELESS…weird AY?  I usually have so much to say!! well I have been away for too long and now have LOTS to say..LOL

First, I was watching Oprah last night and I have been waiting for that episode all week.  It was the SOUND OF MUSIC 45 YEAR REUNION.  I think I cried the whole way through for no reason at all.  I just look at Julie Andrews and I get the warmest bestest feeling evah.  I think I must say that this movie is my favorite movie of all time.  I know every song and I sing it to my kids every day AD NAUSEUM…  I’ll never forget a few years ago the Sound of Music SINGALONG came to Toronto and I FORCED Ryan and a couple of friends to go.  Basically the movie was on the big screen and had the words on the screen as the songs came so you can sing along.  There were also INSTRUCTIONS in the beginning of the movie.. for example, every time you saw the mountains, you had to raise your hands over your head in a V.. like Julie Andrews did… it was HILARIOUS.  The whole audience participated and you saw when people forgot to raise their hands so in the middle of a song you would see a pair of hands go in the air.. what memories huh?

Ok so I would love to know what your MOST FAVORITEST Sound of Music song is and what your LEAST favoritest song is…just leave it in the comments .. I think this would be fun!

Ok so here’s one of my favorites (yes I have many but I made myself pick one)- THE LONELY GOATHERDER

and I think my LEAST favorite song is CLIMB EVERY MOUNTAIN

yes I am very well versed in the Sound of Music.. I also learned that the GORGEOUS Christopher Plummer (originally from MY hometown Montreal) was 34 in the film and Julie Andrews was 28… I though they were SOOOO Much older than I was..LOL.. Even watching parts yesterday I thought the same thing.. I think it’s time a take a real looky in da MIRRAH..LOL

Ok enough blabla.. see what happens when I am away for a few days?  I give you a WEEK’s worth of nonsense in one post!

    Have a fabulous day!

  3. Pinky says:

I wish Maria could solve my problem of not having enough time to play with da’ Sistahs. I see all this inspiration but long for the day I get to create! Pinky is an over scheduled Sistah these days!

WOW! I am just so overwhelmed by the talent that participates in these Bellarific Fridays… All of the entries were so beautifully colored and shaded and the paper piecing is amazing as well. I’m also amazed by the choices of prints and papers used in each card and the amazing, amazing BOWS that are created! You are all truly talented stampers and I aspire to be like you one day! Congratulations to all of you on an amazing job done! Thanks for sharing!!!

  7. Kathy M says:

Gotta be “Doe a Deer” for my fave. And the not-so-fave would be when the Reverend Mother sings “Climb Every Mountain”. The ending with that song is OK, but when the Reverend Mother sings it – I’d rather skip that….

  8. Another great week! Lovin’ da bella goodness!

  9. Ebru says:

Must be the sentiment of the Cathy’s but I LOOOOVE “Doe a Deer”. I used to sing that all the time with my daughter when she was growing up. Then came “I am 16 going on 17….” I’ve loved this story forevah. Thank you for putting the tunes in my head today. I love Bellarific Fridays – there is so much eye candy but…Gena – love how your paper matches perfectly to the swirl in the Christmastini image. I want some!

  14. Jayne says:

Really lovely cards this week, couldn’t pick a favourite! As far as a fave song – love em all, but I especially like the part when Maria and the Captain finally acknowledge they’re in lurve. Not sure if this is the title but it goes….”….somewhere in my youth and childhood, I must have done something good” (I know you’re singing along now!) Oh, gives me the shivers every time! We visited Austria once and came across ‘the’ fountain (amongst other stuff) where I just had to walk along the edge with arms outstretched, fingers pointing, singing “Sew, a needle pulling thread”……..You just had to!!!!

  15. Maria says:

Its Maria! Well not the SOM Maria, but still singing all the songs thanks to yall. So excited to have met u sistas at thet creative festival. I continue to check the site daily for inspiratiual, although I can neva pick a favorite. I lovem all. Now I need to def. clear my calendar and pay you gals a visit, and spend some mula to update my paper and ribbon!

  16. Sylvia D says:

Oh My Goodness!!! I couldn’t believe you pick the Lonely Goatherder. When my daughter was 7 or 8 years old, she would repeatedly watch ‘The Sound of Music’ and when she came to this part, she would watch, rewind, watch, rewind, watch and rewind and constantly call me to come watch this part. I called her to see your blog for today, she says that is definately the best part of the film. I’m smiling as I write this, thanks for the great blog.

  17. jen shears says:

YUM!! Great entries everyone! Kimabella & Gena P’s are my favies this week! I’m not so versed at the Sound of Music- it’s been years- may have to rent it!! 🙂 It does crack me up that you went to a Rocky Horror style Sound of Music!! 😀

  18. Rhian says:

LOVE the S of M!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My favourite movie of all time. I even forced my grade 6 class to watch it one year – and they actually got into it. I saw it for the first time when I was about 4 and I think it was the first movie that brought me to tears – for some inexplicable reason I remember crying during Climb Every Mountain. I watch it every Christmas, once in French even because it was the only version I happened to catch.

  19. Di says:

    awesome work ladies!

  20. awesome cards..just finished halloween boxes and now looking forward to coloring and hopefully get a card into the next chall…thks to all for sharing..love them all

  21. Diana Yee says:

“my favourite things” song is my favourite. I only saw the musical 2 years ago thus seeing the entire story from beginning to end. I never realized that there is a political back story to the plotline of why and how the family had to leave. Julie Andrews is a music icon because of the move. As usual, wonderful cards submitted by everyone.

  22. This comment is actually a question- Does anyone know what product Margo S. used on the polar bear? It looks fantastic!

  23. Julie Flaherty says:

I’ve got to play along and send what I made next time. I actually did make 2 cards just never got around to takin the picture and sending it to you! DUH! (and I had more time than usual too!) Great cards – I always love checking out what other people have done! SO nice!

  24. maryg says:

I was a deprived child and only saw the movie for first time 2 years ago maybe. LOVED IT!!! Fav song: doe a dear…. Can,t say there is a least fav one… Must go scrap my head off now. Ciao

  25. Carol W says:

Favourite Sound of Music song is Favourite Things and worst song is How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria.

Fabulous cards again this week ladies, so much inspiration.

  26. Rosanne says:

Gorgeous cards from everyone again this week! I love the song My Favourite Tings too! And, yea I’m a winner, will e-mail!

  27. Karen says:

Amazing work ladies! These are great projects.
And, I have to say that the sing-along Sound of Music was my best night out ever in my life. I will remember it as long as I live. They had a dress-up contest (tons of Baronesses, snowflakes on noses, etc.) but the winner (hands down, voting by cheers) was this guy who had the besest bestest bestet goat costume, as in the goat belonging to the lonely goatherd. And here is your video. Could I love you any more? Nope!

  28. Tina Mayo says:

ok so I totally watched it too..me love it ..ok so my fave that I totally sing all the time is the goodnight song….so long farewell we’d like to say goodnight, I hate to go but now I must say bye ……..ok so great work sistahs..may have to play along next week..its been a white!!

  29. Christine says:

I love to watch the Sound of Music just to listen to DH gripe. It’s the only movie he remembers from childhood – his mother’s favourite. I just love to watch him wince when DS starts singing the songs multitudinous times.

I am so loving this sketch. All the cards this week just rocked!

  30. Kim says:

Well, haven’t watched sound of music since I was a little one, although i DO sing do a dear now and then. Now I’m off to rent it! lol! As usual Wonderful cards this week. Will be excited to see the creativeity next week with such limited options.

  31. Kim says:

I meant unlimited options! ugh, it’s early here in the states! hee hee.

  32. Jana Weaver says:

such a fun sketch to play with…loved it! my fav song is do re mi (got to visit the fountain the kids dance around when in Salzburg 3+ years ago too…I highly recommend that city!) I agree with you on least fav song!

  33. Leslie W. says:

Love the entries this week and I would have to say Doe a Deer!

  34. Michele B says:

Okay…so love the songs “So Long, Farewell” and “My Favourite Things”.
Love Karen D’s card with Baboo’s Owl.
Paulineabella’s Group Hug and Elaineabella’s Choir with a Star on Top are too cute!!

  35. Oooh I know every song and dance…my sister and I used to dance around the living room to “I am Sixteen”…she was the boy and I was the girl with the twirly dress…of course…

Favorite: Do-Re-Mi & The Sound of Music
Least Favorite: Gotta go with Climb Every Mountain…maybe it’s just Rev Mother’s voice but still…she sounds like a goat…

I drug Josh to the Sing Along…SOOOOOO MUCH FUN!!! Loved it.

  36. LoriT. says:

Gorgeous cards, Everyone!! Definitely Doe a Deer!! 🙂

  37. Jacilynn says:

lovely cards this week. I’m gonna have to play this week. I’m going through bella withdrawls 😉

  38. Ren-Yi Lo says:

oh look at those cards. all so lovely – can’t wait for the next bellarific friday 😀

  39. Cynthia says:

Oh my… I don’t know if I could pick a favourite… My Favourite Things? Do, Re, Mi? Edelweiss? OK, maybe My Favourite Things. I can’t sing a note, but I just HAVE TO belt it out when Maria sings it! And worst? Definitely the Lonely Goatherd… sorry 🙁

  40. Kristin says:

Yay I won!!! Soooo excited! Favourite is My Favourite Things and :so long, farewell”, least favourite is Climb every mountain. Can’t wait until my girls are old enough to love it (and Mary Poppins),

  41. Keren says:

All the cards look so nice. My favourite things: my kids, my husband, scrapbooking, reading a good book, watching tv and of course eating out!!

  42. Keren says:

I misunderstood i thought you wanted my favourite things ooops. my favourite song is favourite things, the goat one and eidle veis. my least favourite is the hymn of the nuns

  43. Jules says:

My least favourite is How Do You Solve A Problem Like Maria; my most favourite… oh dear, this is hard to pick just one… lemme think now.. well, its a dead tie between Favourite Things and Something Good. From the time I was a child, this has been my most favourite movie. It’s good to know some things only get better with age, as does my admiration for this movie.
I recently saw the cast reunited on Oprah Show; how very wonderful to see everyone today. It took me back to my youth, as I’m certain it does each time I watch it on TV or hear one of its songs.
Many of this week’s cards are fast becoming my favourite things! (Especially Margo’s Polar Bear Circle & Jana W’s Buds Boy.=o)
