Hello friends!
Amy here with a mix of old and new to create some serious Christmas cuteness for this week’s Scenic Saturday. Tiny Townie Frida Loves Frosty is a Stamping Bella classic and it’s been a few years since I’ve inked her up. To help set a frosty festive scene I grabbed the new Christmas Stories are the Best stamp and did the same selective inking trick that I did with the Tales from the Haunted Mansion stamp a couple months ago.
Because Frida and Frosty are quite large, I stamped them in the bottom corner of this A2 sized card front. I then masked them off before placing the Christmas Stories are the Best house high up in the opposite corner. By only applying ink to the house part of the stamp and omitting the stack of books that the original image rests on, it becomes a perfect backdrop rather than a focal point. The strategic placement of both stamps also creates a sense of scale between the two that successfully shows the distance between this cute pair of snow friends in the foreground and the warm and cozy home behind them. Traditional Christmas reds and greens pop prettily against the cool blue hues of the snow and sky and the small sentiment perfectly captures the story these two are telling.
Stay crafty my friends!
